Obviously she has an unfair advantage as she has a lower centre of gravity because she hasn’t fully gone through puberty yet. Shouldn’t be there in place of some one older who’s worked for longer.

Can't see where we are going to get golds from now apart from ladies cycling? Equestrian maybe. Medal total and placing well down on last two Olympics.

Anyway, back to the Olympics, this is an interesting comparison table showing countries and their performances over the past Olympics.
The ROC, Dutch, Italians and Japanese are ahead.
France, S Korea, Denmark, Poland just below par.

It’s literally the exact same as the garbage some were posting on here about another Olympian.

It's literally not. In fact, it's so far apart in terms of an argument that it's funny watching someone trying to frame it as though it is.

    Gammon's gonna gammon, though.

Anyway, a fantastic achievement by a 13 year old at the Olympics.

But that is not really your opinion is it that she has an unfair advantage?

At a push she might have a slight natural advantage with a lower centre of gravity but seeing as the most famous and successful skater of all time Tony Hawk is 6ft 3in I doubt it is really that relevant

So, I suggest that yes, you are trolling.

the demise of Germany .. once upon a time both East and West were always up there, the East athletes as high as kites on a cocktail of who knows what 'medication', the West always very determined and competitive. Now, like their footballers, German athletes are mid table and look like staying there.
And 13 year olds winning medals ? .. they should be at home doing their homework ((:>)

Hard to get too patriotic about someone who's spent their entire life in the US or Japan.

She wants to represent our great country and win medals for it, then she gets my total support!

no different to footballers born and nurtured in the UK who when they fail to make (say) England squads, go away and play for the lands of their fathers.

My point being we are behind the 67 and 65 medals we got in 2016  and 2012 where we finished 3rd & 2nd respectively. 27 golds in 2016 & 29 in 2012.

We have come up short in rowing, cycling and athletics this time around.

We were never going to emulate the achievements of 2012 and 2016 with gold medals because of the obvious reason of coming to the end of an era in Cycling and Rowing where we won a hatful of gold's in both.
Athletics we were always going to struggle once Asher-Smith wasn't fit and Thompson-Johnson has lost vital preparation time.
Hodgkinson was a big bonus with her silver and bizarrely if Reekie hadn't tried to win the 800 she could well have won the silver or Bronze. ( No criticism as she was brave but she wouldn't have attacked the winner with half a lap to go in retrospect.)

Muir has medal prospects in 1500m but Hassan is strong favourite.

Seems like in rowing and cycling we are in a transition period.

Add in the fact that everyone is saying how this olympics has been a strange one due to Covid. Medals going all over the place that don’t usually get them.

These games are very much the Covid Olympics. Some people freeze in front of a packed stadium and some are inspired to greatness.
With no crowd, the dynamics are so different.

Usain Bolt with no crowd would have struggled to be such a showman.

Pleased they managed to get these games on but a vital piece of the drama was missing: The crowd.

Is Tossing the Caber going to be added as an Olympic sport for Paris 2024 ?
There will be Jocks ripping up trees to get into that team.

Great fun watching Sky Brown this morning. A lot of adults wouldn’t have performed that well after falling twice earlier. Brilliant performance in her final run.

Advances like this will also make it a lot more difficult to do like for like comparisons between runners who ran in different generations etc. I know it's impossible but it would be great if we could judge people past and present on an equal basis, which we just can't.

I guess all you can do is judge how far ahead of their contemporaries people were.
