    Well played Denmark. Fantastic effort from them, but, for once, England better on paper and better on the night. Class told in the end. Southgate got it spot on again. 

    So so so pleased to see this group going deep deep deep into a tournament. Every single one of them likeable.

    Brilliant. Yes we got lucky with the pen (there was also another ball on the pitch) but this lot are a special group. We've had better individuals in the past but this is a great team, we can beat Italy.

    This. I'd given up. One after another. But they did us proud today. Denmark were tough opposition - never doubted this wouldn't be the walk over some predicted. But we showed quality at times, and Schmeichel kept them in it. Brave efgort by the Danes, but the best team won.

    Not knocking Southgate but we should be beating Denmark with the players we have. I’m not sure his tactical decisions tonight were what clinched it, but rather the quality of our squad and Denmark running out of legs
