Doesn't help that I don't particularly like the city, and every company I've ever worked for that's had an office there it's been in an especially shit part to get to - but in general I think it suffers from the same thing that a lot of big cities do - it feels too big, impersonal and it stinks as well. Much prefer Lyon, Marseille and Nice. Outside the cities, they rival the Italians as the nicest people I've ever socialised or worked with.DaveMehmet said:
Agree with that but would add I’ve never had a problem with them when visiting Paris either.Leroy Ambrose said:
I love France and the French. Outside Paris, they're about the friendliest people you could ever meet - provided you're not chucking tables through their bar windows and pissing in the street.Karim_myBagheri said:
Some?! None of us like the garlic smelling bastards.Jessie said:
Haha, I know many of you hate France. But I must admit judging from this game both France and Hungary look better than England. Hungary did especially well. I'm surprised at how good they are! They defended and attacked both brilliantly and effectively. I really like England (always support them in tournaments) but this Hungarian team is such an inspiration and I kept thinking England would lose to them while watching the game. I know none of the Hungarian players (apart from Nego of course) yet they almost beat France and totally deserved the point.Karim_myBagheri said:
I know you're Chinese but there is no neutral in this game for the English. Come on Hungary!!Jessie said:This is a very entertaining game for a neutral to watch. Both goals are great.
I heard the other day that England have the most expensive squad at this tournament but having read the posts on the England v Scotland match thead and then watched today's Hungary game I don't think the total value of a squad matters.
the premiership over rates our players along with the commentators. Then again our manager and some of our fans are no different.
I might be a tad bias towards Hungary having lived there for a few years and also desperate to live there again.2 -
The French establishment and ruling classes are awful though. I'm struggling to think of a single French politician I've liked or respected0

Lewandowski is some player. Poland playing very well.0
-
If Poland had Stockley they'd be level. Get ya 'ead in there, son.0
-
Morata given offside but VAR looks and says it should be a goal. 1-00
-
Sorry, has anyone got the link to that spreadsheet thingy that works out second round etc0
-
PWR but why do they keep saying Poland are out if they lose? Why can’t they finish third by beating Sweden and Slovakia losing to Spain?0
-
Danny Murphy doesn’t think it’s a pen!0

"Just because there's contact doesn't mean it's a penalty".

And for once, he's completely correct.2 -

Because only 4 of the 3rd place sides go through and most will be on 4 points Poland would only be on 3 if they beat SwedenJaShea99 said:PWR but why do they keep saying Poland are out if they lose? Why can’t they finish third by beating Sweden and Slovakia losing to Spain?0 -
Nah he’s still talking bobbins. That was a clear foul and penaltyOff_it said:"Just because there's contact doesn't mean it's a penalty".

I thought that, but from looking at the tables I can’t see how that’s the case. In our group for example, Scotland and Croatia could both finish on 2 points. Switzerland and Turkey could also draw.0

Rankings are done by head to head before goal difference. Poland lost to Slovakia. If they lose tonight, they can get maximum 3 points and Slovakia hold the head to head record over them.JaShea99 said:PWR but why do they keep saying Poland are out if they lose? Oh, that clears it up then. Cheers.Callumcafc said:

So the trip on Sterling yesterday was a foul as well then?Callumcafc said:

I believe it should’ve been yes. Same as the Spanish one this evening and the Dutch one the other night.Off_it said:

Meanwhile back at Wembley, a considered opinion from a Charlton fan (someone on here?)

Danny Murphy’s voice is so boring!!!!1

So the VAR decides one doesn't even warrant a second look but the other is clear and obvious enough an error to tell the referee to have a look at it.Callumcafc said:

No matter how poorly Harry Kane might play at this tournament, be eternally grateful he isn't Alvaro Morata

The Spanish technical area in Seville has declared independence. How big are they at this tournament?2
-
Spain are the one ‘big name’ team I’m not afraid of. The rest I think we lose.1
