It’s just so infuriating. All I’m asking for is attacking football. He has the players to
    do it.

Everyone relax. A point here will see us through. It's tactical.

Not good if we don't get a point of course.
If that is our mentality then fuck me it’s depressing.
Innit. Pathetic mentality. And it's typical of us to accept that shit rather than call this pathetic display out for what it is.
    Awful
To not want to beat Scotland.? Not just the manager but some of them players need a reality check if they think they are one of the favourites
Fair play to Scotland. They played with 💙

Grealish not the panacea some thought.

Very poor although credit to Scotland, who did their jobs very well.

    Slow, slow, slow.

Hard to play well in a suffocating formation such as that.

Zero movement in the final third from anyone and full-backs not allowed to attack.

Idiots booing. Not entitled to beat anyone.

Need to play far better and attack more but was not gonna be a walkover
Pages 1 to 6 on this thread would say people didn’t see that way, and plenty of them.

The only positive is that we have almost certainly have qualified.
  • Decent game but cagey as expected.

Scotland did well and we were too cautious. Glad it's out the way.

Need to play more attacking with both Grealish and Foden starting together more centrally and one holding midfielder.

Get Chilwell in at left back.

Need to better use our player's strengths.

Was always gonna be a derby nerve tingle.

Glad they got booed, I'd have booed that. Nowhere near good enough and they should be fucking told so. Not coddled with 'oh a point is ok'. It's pathetic

All the personal attacks on Southgate are a bit much.

You may not agree with his football and calling for him to go is normal, but calling him a c*** etc is not acceptable
We've all been called a C*** from time to time, tonight's it's Southgates turn.

That’s harsh on Grealish. They knew he was the threat and he got swamped every time he touched that ball.

    Same with Foden.

Ive said it before and I’ll say it again. Without an attacking set up we cannot utilise our attacking talent.

Yeah I'd hate us to get into the bad habit of attacking fluency.

    Best get the draw.
It's not the disaster that's being made out with everyone shitting their spleen.
It’s not a necessarily a disaster in terms of the tournament but it’s awful in terms of building a winning mentality. One of the Scots is good enough to challenge for a place in the English squad and we looked second best.

Well as usual for England a squad packed with talent who perform week In week out being nullified by a jackass dictating the tactics and picking the team. Piss poor all round. We will probably nick it 1-0 but tactically inept imo
Only behind Capello in win % I think I read.
Yup that's as maybe but look at the players he has ! You tell me have you seen those player like James, Foden, Mount Eric pass sideways and backwards that many times all season combined ? How many times did James go past their full back ? They are being shackled by a manager that has become negative and doesnt know what to do with the players he has. Made Scotland look like a top team ffs

The Sweaties should be annoyed they didn't win that, other the start of each half we lacked spark and creativity.

  • Well at least that should end any ideas that we're going to win the tournament.

Nowhere near as good as France, Belgium, Netherlands or Portugal.

We'll probably get through to the next round, but don't bank on it.

    Huge, huge disappointment.

Not really. He just didn't play very well. Along with a few other players he just didn't offer what he could have. The full backs certainly were allowed to attack, James got forward a fair bit as did Shaw, and Shaw had a great chance to put the ball across but decided to do a perfect mix between a pass and a shot and wasted the opening. Just lacked urgency today

Literally an Under 7 grassroots manager would’ve subbed Phillips for Bellingham there.

Southgates lack of adaptability is astounding.

    Good point.
    Qualification assured.
    Job done.

This way we can possibly avoid finishing in the dreaded top spot.
Portugal drew all three group games in '16 and won the tournament.

There's more to come from England......

    Kane isn’t happy. Good

I hope he completely loses this squad and he’s going about it the right way.

Dreadful performance by England. But in reality finishing second in this group might be better than winning it. So expecting similar against the Czechs. Will I stay up until 4am to watch it? Not sure.

Exactly we brought on a creative spark and took off our central striker. Suddenly it was crowded on the flanks and easier to close him and others down. We need to play quicker and get teams on the back foot.

Kane comes deep because we still aren’t attacking correctly. Ahead of Rice and Phillips we have nothing. Get Grealish/ Foden and Mount in those spaces and his life becomes a million times easier.

Sterling seems undroppable which worries me.
