Some owners “get it”, some think they “get it” but just do not. We have seen this very clearly at Charlton - compare Charlton TV to the Fan Sofa. This is just a much larger manifestation of the same issue. Basically, now that the Spanish government has finally stopped bankrolling Real Madrid, and Barca (who sold their soul years ago) have been financially living beyond their means for decades, they're utterly fucked financially and know it. Covid has just hastened the reality of their imperilment.

In honesty, premier league top 6 is like the super league anyway. Theres no real hope for anyone in the football league to win apart from heavy investment (city, leceister etc)

We shouldn’t assume that all US sports fans are less passionate than any English football fans, it’s more nuanced than that.0 -
