So I presume that’s Tuesday , Wednesday and Thursday...stoneroses19 said:City haven’t lost a midweek league game since May 2010. Ridiculous stat.
only cos they must have lost a Monday night live match at some point in that period .
I wonder how many midweek league games they’ve played in that time0 -
Bad news for Newcastle, with Wilson already out injured now both Almiron and Saint-Maximin are out until April.
The 3 of them account for a huge majority of their goals.
They'll be dancing in the streets of Fulham.0 -
Poor from Pope for the Leicester goal. Still prefer Henderson for the England number 1.0
-
This is appalling by United.

This will be United's 7th 0-0 of the season and 3rd consecutive match with that score.mid_life_crisis said:This is appalling by United.
No doubt they will try to play exactly the same way against City on Sunday and that would be considered a massive result by them - keeps them in the challenge for a Champions League place and stops City's run of consecutive wins. There was at one point money available to back that score on Sunday at 18.0 on Betfair (and there is still a small amount at 16.5) which looks quite big given those circumstances!

Somewhat amazingly, United have scored more goals than any other team bar City and have had more goals in total in their games bar Leeds.0 -
The midweek league game stat is apparently for home games, and yes it's Tues/Weds/Thurs.oohaahmortimer said:

It's 37 games.3 -
Their goals scored is helped by having scored 9 v Southampton, 6 v Leeds and 4 v Newcastle.Addick Addict said:

19 in just 3 games. But then only 34 in the remaining 24 games.1 -
You're probably right as he wasn't even their first choice. They wanted Koulibaly from Napoli but were priced out as Napoli wanted somewhere close to 90m.Bournemouth Addick said:
Agree. Dias' signing sort of came in under the radar a bit in the summer. I get the feeling his quality and the speed in which he's become first choice has surprised even City. There's not a lot of depth in top quality centre backs at the highest level around at the moment but he's got the potential to be one of the best.Chris_from_Sidcup said:
Stones has been superb but it's Dias who has transformed City and brought Stones' game on. He's ridiculously good for someone who's still only 23. Portugal are going to be very strong at the Euro's, him, Cancelo, Guerreiro, Bernardo Silva, Bruno Fernandes, Jota, Joao Felix and Ronaldo.Addick Addict said:
I'm sure that if they can win 5-0 at West Brom on a cold and wet Tuesday then Stoke should hold no fears for them!iaitch said:Yeah but can they do it on a wet Tuesday night in Stoke?
Even more remarkable is the form of Stones alone and his influence on the rest of the team - he's played 23 games this season and City have won 22 of them with the only one they didn't win was the 0-0 draw with Man United. They've let in just 4 in those 23 matches and he's scored that many alone. Will be great to see if he can perform for England at that level because he has to be a certainty to start.
City have conceded 17 goals in 27 games. 5 of those came in their defeat to Leicester when they had Ake and Garcia at centre back.
A blessing in disguise really as he's 30 this summer, but Dias could be at City for a decade.0 -

Point taken but then top scorers City have scored 22 in 5 and 34 in 22 which isn't too far divorced from that.Chris_from_Sidcup said:

They also paid over £40m for Nathan Ake who never gets a look in, he is also 26.0

That's the thing, Laporte and Dias in particular could be such a good partnership, for a good few years.Addick Addict said:

If they replace Aguero well, City could be very difficult to beat for a while.0 -
He has been injured for a good while but agree he would be a back up who can also play at left back if required to do soiaitch said:They also paid over £40m for Nathan Ake who never gets a look in, he is also 26.0 -
Palace have got 10 points from their last 7 games, putting them top half on form table.
All the while scoring in just 3 of those games.
What a boring team, but annoyingly effective. If only they had CBs like Pearce and Deji.2 -
Werner (top) ruled offside.

Are we ready to admit this now btw?SELR_addicks said:So we can all agree Lampard was out of his depth yes?0 -
How is that not handball. Kante arms in unnatural position. So inconsistent.1

Liverpool are like a rudderless ship on the pitch - no VVD, no Henderson, no Millner, no direction0

5 losses in last 6 league games for Liverpool.Only 10 points from last 10 games.1
-
In massive trouble now.0
-
12 wins from 27 games. West Ham have 13 and Everton 14.
Absolutely love it.0 -

Better than the Premier League Champions13 -
The only sad thing is that last season got completed.
Can you imagine if a pandemic stopped them about two wins away from their first title in 30 years and then they finished the mid-table the year after?
You'd hear the sobbing, wailing and foot stamping from here.4 -
Liverpool's slump is crazy.
How can you go from a club record 68 home games unbeaten (which included at one point 24 wins in a row) to then go and lose 5 in a row (another club record).
Sublime to the ridiculous.

Found this interesting back in September and seems spot on now in terms of the predictions that Liverpool would tail off etc:Chris_from_Sidcup said:Liverpool's slump is crazy.

Couldn't possibly be due to the fact they've had half their squad out with injury this season?Chris_from_Sidcup said:Liverpool's slump is crazy.

Anyone thinking its anything other than that is mad.2 -
Only half the squad out, bunch of pussies.
We had about 90% of our lot missing last season.4
