Problem for NL is the lack of fans. It was never about Covid directly. As for the lower leagues, it’s probably too late to restart the leagues. I’m praying to a god I don’t believe in that they come up with some other formats!!0

Wrexham's players will share a £250,000 bonus from new owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney if they win promotion from the National League this season.
The Hollywood actors have also agreed a cash incentive for match results.
Players will receive £200 for each win and £50 for a draw, but only as long as they remain in the play-offs - with Wrexham currently in the last spot.

The phrase 'maintaining the integrity of the league' should be banned. That ship sailed long ago. Let alone in a statement saying "we cannot be relegated now so we are going to furlough the players and put kids out instead".
I don't blame Wealdstone or any other club for doing what they're doing, but integrity isn't a word that has any meaning here. Integrity was lost the very moment the NL asked the clubs to vote.3 -

The National League club have also been issued a 12-point deduction for the 2021-2022 season and fined £40,000.
The club, which has the right to appeal, placed all management, players and staff on furlough on 14 February.
An independent panel charged 18 clubs for alleged breaches of league rules.

Step 7 starts next Saturday. 99% of the 'grounds' are literally parks. The FA are advertising supporters are not allowed to attend.
10k of supporters in premier league grounds three weeks later though.
