He either caught it on route, on the plane or one of the tests is wrong.2 -

For that reason, I suspect it's more likely he's had either a false negative in the UK or a false positive on arrival.
If it's the latter, then a bit of isolation will be fine.
If it's the former, then, potentially, he may have been shedding the virus for twelve hours, in a confined space with the majority of the rest of the team. In which case, they should start making return flight reservations, sharpish!0 -

It can only be that one of the test results is wrong. If that's the case I pray it's a false positive as the other option is quite scary.1 -
It'll soon be easier to list everyone who has NOT has Covid 190

Not England, but thought I'd watch a bit of the Aussie/India match. I have to put up with watching Smith bat, then the players all charge off the pitch for a tiny shower of rain!0

Will Pucovski is an interesting case.
You wonder, with the best will in the world, how long a career he may have, given the issues he's had.

It's difficult to understand how a 22 year old playing at Test level has been hit on the head 9 or 10 times let alone suffered that many instances of concussion. The reality has to be, therefore, that he has actually been hit a lot more than that in his short career.
Watching the last time he was hit, it is clear that in that particular instance he tried to duck it and then made a late decision to play it. Those decisions should, actually, be the other way round - prepare to hit it but if it's not there then duck or weave - because it is very hard to catch up with a 90mph ball when you haven't set yourself to hook it.
You don't have to be a "happy hooker", especially at Test level, but if you can demonstrate that the bouncer holds no fear then the opposition are far less likely to target you. Archer would be licking his lips at the prospect at bowling at him especially as he is one of those bowlers who doesn't give you an early "tell" when he bowls the bouncer.

A rather one side intersquad game! Awkward that the best Buttler player Pope isn't even in the Sri Lanka squad as he's recovering from his shoulder injuryIntra squad warm-up, MRIC Stadium, Hambantota (day one of two)Team Root 184-2 dec (50 overs): Root 74*, Lawrence 46*, Crawley 46; Crane 1-37, Bess 1-59Team Buttler 120-6 (38 overs): Pope 58*; Anderson 2-21, Leach 2-27, Robinson 2-150 -
It's not England-related. But it's worth looking at it, because it's quite a well taken catch...

So the Test will feature an under prepared England side versus a Sri Lankan side just back from South Africa0 -
I make Labuschagne about 60 odd runs away from Australia having the batsmen with the 2nd and 3rd best averages ever batting out there, assuming Smith doesn't get out before.
