TS: We’re still talking about that. It’s part of a bigger discussion we’re having on the footballing side. Everything we do on the academy side, we want to make sure it’s consistent with the playing style of the first team. Part of that is also recruiting. It’s not just getting data on players and having a good network, it’s also the whole scouting process. A lot is provided by scouting services where you get access to a lot of data, but not everything is buried in a number. You’ve got to see how a player moves. A human eye and a human brain can quickly work it out. You need the soft input as well as the hard data. That’s why I’m bringing young Thomas Driesen back in. We have the data and he’s soft as shite.15 -
I was one of those who 'attended' the meeting.
The start made me laugh with Thomas playing his guitar in one box and the glum unimpressed faces of the Trust hierarchy in the other three boxes.
I think his enthusiasm for his guitar is great but he overestimates the enthusiasm of the fans (not including myself) judging by the 3 we could see.
I think it was a good illustration of the whole Thomas Sandgaard project. I've no doubt that he will achieve a lot and I love the energy he will give. However I think his enthusiasm and ambition will prove to outdo the achievement or at least the speed of those achievements. I voted 10-12 years to reach The Premier League and I consider even that optimistic. I think that he underestimates the difficulty of getting out of The Championship by a long way.
As fans we can enjoy the ride but expect the train to run more slowly than announced.4 -

Absolutely, it's not even easy to get out of League 1. To be fair, I imagine they were stressed out at the time, that something would go wrong, that Zoom would freeze after 5 minutes etc...
The event was a great success, the technology worked, and being able to like/upvote questions meant that the most popular ones got asked, which was a fair way of doing it
In terms of the stadium, yes it's better than many comparable ones in London BUT Fulham are building a massive new stand, Palace have plans for a new main stand, Watford have plans etc I think we'll quickly reach a point in the next couple of years when we'll need/want to spend significant money at both the Valley and Sparrows Lane, something which won't make sense unless we own them.0 -

To be fair, we weren't grumpy or glum but indeed a little bit anxious - trying to make sure the tech and links were working for everyone to get access plus a tad nervous about the whole event! We had hoped that we could use 'Speaker' view at that point so you would only see Thomas for the intro but seems that didn't quite come off!
On a personal note I'm afraid I was born with a non-smiley natural face - I still remember at the age of about seven or eight passing a stranger on my walk home from school who told me, "Cheer up, it can't be that bad!"
My excuses and I'm sticking to them

As I said on the other thread, it was a great night and a roaring success! The questions were asked in a professional but friendly way by Sam and Thomas didn't duck one of them. I think there were at one point some 260 questions waiting to be asked. I don't know how many were, asked, but it was a full 90 + minutes.
To see TS starting off by playing one of his bands songs and a guitar rendition of VFR was something to behold.
A great night, can we please have more?
