Do you really think our fan base is more "touchy and cry babyish" than any other clubs? I'd suggest what you see or hear from our fans is pretty typical. That's why getting the right message out is important, even if it doesn't say what you really want it to. Never burn your bridges.oohaahmortimer said:
Especially if you have a fan base as touchy and cry babyish as ours , I mean we have fans who believe players and management are here for the love of Charlton 🙄SporadicAddick said:Some players are badly advised / don't know how to play the PR game / haven't had the right media training - choose any or all of the above for Bonne.
Whether or not you rated him as a player, this thread would be full of support had he balanced his words....
"I had a fantastic time at Charlton, they are a great club and the management, players and fans were good to me. QPR made an offer which gave me the opportunity to play at a higher level and the manager was prepared to let me go. Like Charlton, QPR are a great club and I'm looking forward to challenging for a place in the team and to continue developing as a player"
On the interpretation of words hangs a reputation. Get it right you are fine, get it wrong you are hung out to dry, irrespective of your ability as a player.2 -
I think he supported qpr as a kid which might explain why his head was turned especially given the fact that LB didn't rate him & made no secret of that by slagging him to the press.TellyTubby said:
I guess the negativity is down to the fact that Bonne obviously thinks QPR are far bigger than Charlton. That might have been reasonable in the 70s but not historically and not now, despite the difference in current levels.hoof_it_up_to_benty said:
Don't get all the hatred for Bonne. He was okay for us and we sold him for £2m.SantaClaus said:The negativity about Bonne is getting a little over the top. I don't think he should be leading the line even in league one and I wouldn't want him to start too many games if he did end up playing for us again. That said he has enough about him to be effective as an impact sub and with the right partner he could be successful as a second striker.
Not sure what QPR fans were expecting?0 -
Have to agree actuallyLargeAddick said:
Bonne will score more goals in the Championship than Bogle will in League One. In fact already probably has ...Croydon said:
Bogle does more around the park, in my opinion. He's been brought in to hold the ball up, and link up with other attacking options, something that Bonne was pretty dire at.carly burn said:

I think some are a little peeved he's gone because it appears we've got very little up top.
I wasn't a huge fan, and we've all heard the stories of his agent being a bit of a prick, but I think the hate towards him is a bit strong
Some of the hate may be OTT, but I think most of us are just enjoying be proved right.
The blokes been there 5 minutes.( And scored)
If 5 minutes is the litmus test then I think we can safely put Bogle in the same category.
QPR fans seem to be in agreement with us, he's not Championship quality.1 -
Doesn't he support Ipswich? He was born there, grew up there and played in their academy.charltonbob said:

Sure i remember reading something about him saying that his idols growing up were Darren Bent and Darren Ambrose.1 -
Get over Bonne.. He wasn't good enough for the way Bowyer wants to play.. Personally I am not a big fan of Bogle, but Bowyer needs a striker where the ball sticks, and Bogle certainly helps with that, and allows to bring other players in to the game.. You would fire the ball in to Bonne, and the ball wouldn't stick, and always put us on the back foot! Great bit of business getting 2 million for a very very average footballer.
As I said, Bonne will end up in League 2 before long.15 -
I see Chair was QPR’s first scorer. Unlike Bonne, he’s been there a while now; arguably, he’s part of the furniture.19

Will he score more than Washington though?LargeAddick said:

You said what I was going to. In so many games Bonne was practically anonymous. Yes, Bonne's probably a better scorer but Bogle and Aneke will bring others into play and hopefully the goal tally will be decent as a result.

Lockyer took a pay cut to joined us and signed a short deal. Completely different set of circumstances.carly burn said:

If he hadn’t got the right deal would there have been a sit-down protest?
Also, I understand his goal came from a cushioned shot.0 -
When he gets over 30, will people say Chair's legs have gone?thai malaysia addick said:I see Chair was QPR’s first scorer. Unlike Bonne, he’s been there a while now; arguably, he’s part of the furniture.13 -

I hear he's lining up a move to Wycombe, where he can presumably become their talisman.thai malaysia addick said:I see Chair was QPR’s first scorer. Unlike Bonne, he’s been there a while now; arguably, he’s part of the furniture.2 -

I've heard his nickname is Rocking3 -
Saw QPR won at the weekend, checked to see if Bonne had any goals etc as he's been starting for them, nope came on as a 95th minute sub1

His cushion headers are very good and he’s more than useful at settee pieces but he doesn’t offer much support.killerandflash said:

I've got a mate, born in Southgate, lived all his life in Southgate & supports Ipswich, funnily enough his brother supports QPR.Chris_from_Sidcup said:

Anyway you may well be correct but I'm sure I read when he was a youngster his mates all went to QPR & he used to go with them.
Somebody should ask him
