            RIP.
I got married in Rochdale (wife was originally from there). Bobby owned a nightclub called Braces and we hired his DJ at our wedding reception who was a funny as he was. Bobby was a very respected person who was always popping up around the town.0 -

Don't really remember Cannon and Ball, but seemed a great bloke and enjoyed Not Going Out.0

Lee Mack wrote some great lines for Bobby Ball in Not going out as his dodgy dad.
Bobby came across as a good guy with straight forward northern humour.
Not the cleaver arse political stuff that every young comic feel they have to do now.

Cannon and Ball were before my time
But loved him in Not Going Out.
Also if you have a spare 12 minutes watch the first 12 minutes of this.

A truly funny man, in a nice gentle way. So sad that he has gone before his time. The sketch with Jocky Wilson playing darts is an absolute delight. RIP Bobby.0

Heard canon and ball interviewed on radio 5 only weeks ago. They were talking about how they ring each other every single day. The philharmonic orchestra did a rendition of their theme tune song and listening to it brought a lump to my throat. Nostalgia I guess. Sad day. RIP. "Rock on Tommy" is no more.1
