Lyle Taylor - August 2025 signed for Chelmsford City (p295)

Change of circumstances, even if we was in league one mid table before his contract ran out and he refused to play but we was at least safe and he bizarrely didn't want to risk injury.
I'd personally still think...bit weird. What an absolute wanker.0 -
He will show the same loyalty & professionalism (not a shred) wherever he plays - nothing but contempt from me I’m afraid. That goes for a few others as well as far as I’m concerned.0
-
It could easily be going from something like £6k a week to £25k a week. Over a three year contract that'll make a real difference to his life in the future. It'll likely be his only big contract of his career and he's probably not going to stay in football when he retires given he only sees it as a job.MartinCAFC said:
So he goes from being very rich to very very rich.Scoham said:
The money will be, would imagine he's at least doubled what he was on with us, probably more.ct_addick said:Sorry but Forest life changing?
Yes he gets richer but I wouldn't say it's life changing money when he already has a comfortable life anyway.
Not defending what he did of course, at the very least he should have played the three games in June, but I can see why he'd describe it as life changing.3 -

Yep, and I’m prepared to slap the first Lifer who posts ‘Guess who just scored for Forest’ on any upcoming match threads.3 -
Probably reading too much in to it but players like Bonne, Pearce and Williams haven’t reacted to Taylor’s post on Instagram, makes you think if they’re the ones who are pissed with his attitude. Only a few younger players and ex players have actually reacted to it wishing him well.1

Pointless suggesting the thread be closed. His every single move is going to be forensically examined by a lot of our fanbase.
We’re still having discussions about Tony Watt to this day!1 -
Yeah close the bloody thread. He moved on months ago, about time we did. When he scores it’ll be in the match thread of the day anyway.0

Loyal servant to the club. Won't have a bad word said about him.cafctom said:Pointless suggesting the thread be closed. His every single move is going to be forensically examined by a lot of our fanbase.

Not forgetting a signing on fee.Covered End said:£20,000 x 52 x 3 = £3.12M for example.
The point is he could have played out his contract and got that anyway.1 -

those would be the teammates and manager that you shat on.1 -
If that's a dig at CAFC then he needs to remember how Bowyer supported him at Peteboro when he took that awful penalty that ultimately cost the club a spot in the autos.Fiiiiiish said:
Nice of him
He also needs to realise that Charlton are a bigger club than HTFC!!!4 -
I appreciate you're comment is a bit tongue in cheek, but I would say us and Huddersfield are around the same level, so while Grant may now be in a higher league etc, he's hardly setting the world alight enough for a 'bigger and better' dig.EdgeleyAddick said:

I don’t think anyone is annoyed he didn’t sign another contract - it’s the refusal in playing in games that he was contracted to do so and condemning us to relegation. As for grant - the fella has always been a bit of a dick imo
any Charlton fan wishing Taylor well - is also a bit of a dick. For me personally I hope he has an injury 1st game out4 -
He's already starting the Insta nonsense.....'Copying you big Bro' to Marlon Harewood. Haha.1

Please don't. The only reason to close a thread is because the content risks the integrity or existence of the forum, or if the content is already fully and singularly captured in another thread.robroy said:Close the thread please mods
Anyone that doesn't like the principle or content of a thread can simply not read it. There are hundreds of threads on this forum that I don't read because the content doesn't interest me. At no point would I consider asking the "mods" to close them down.
As with many others, I'm enjoying this thread and understanding different views on Taylor's actions and the implications for him and us.
Thanks6 -

I don't think any Charlton fans have actually wished him well. That is a lie.
We just got relegated. Our best player simply just casually out in the open refused to play. No one at the club would actually wish him well.
It's disgusting.
Only reason why you might not want to be a professional footballer would be the unbelievable amount of pressure seeing 15,000 people watching every move you make.
He didn't even have that problem.
He doesn't care about the club at all.
If he wasn't a moron he would have used the games as a tool to at least attempt to get match fit and improve himself before his next move.0 -

I hope the 1st couple of penalties awarded to forest this season are taken by Taylor.
Both get saved and the fan's turn on the prick.4 -
From what I've seen just by briefly scanning the comments I can only see a few like andre green, Naby. Havent seen any from the likes of Pearce, Cullen, Williams which is good to see.Addickted said:How many of his ex team mates have though?
Then again didnt he say he got a standing applause from players and staff when he left sparrows lane. Looooool.0 -
I saw comments on his insta post from Green, Sarr, Hemed, Gallagher.Addickted said:How many of his ex team mates have though? All players that no longer play for us anyway.
I haven’t seen any comments from current Charlton players, which surely shows what they think of him.3 -
Lyle Taylor epitomises everything I dislike in the modern world - an attention serking p**ck who loves social media and 'pretends' to be everyone's friend. About as genuine as Matt Southall.
Enjoyed watching him play football but in terms of personality he seems a bit s***.
I have no respect for him and am glad that he's gone. Forest are welcome to him and his attitude.

I’d be surprised if Grabban gives up his penalties for Taylor. I’m sure we’ll see one of those pathetic scenes next season where they’re fighting over the ball for a penalty.blackpool72 said:I hope the 1st couple of penalties awarded to forest this season are taken by Taylor.

I know for a fact that many of the players were incredibly annoyed with him.
I am sure lots of them have the same reasoning, they understand more than most what a large contract towards the end of your career will mean, but they also do not agree with what he has done.4 -
I wonder where he bought a yard.mendonca said:He's already starting the Insta nonsense.....'Copying you big Bro' to Marlon Harewood. Haha.0 -
