    Fulham may be out of automatic promotion contention by then, but can't finish lower than 4th, so won't have much to play for either.

    Will they want to end on a high and so keep the form going into the Play-Offs though

    Look at us when we went to Rochdale on the final day two years ago

    That's not true. If they stay up even with the 12 point deduction then they're safe.
    It's only applied next season if they finish in the bottom 3 before the deduction (which can't happen).

    There has got to be a punishment - so down without deduction is -12 in League 1 - stay up without deduction it's -12 in the Championship.

    Well Wigan cant be relegated without a deduction now so surely just give them the 12-pt deduction now

    To think Millwall could be promoted to the Premier League having won just 17 out of 46 matches. And we could be relegated to League 1 having won 4 less games than them.

    From BBC:

    The sanction will be applied at the end of this season if the Latics, 14th in the Championship, finish outside the bottom three after 46 games.

    Should Wigan finish in the relegation zone, the penalty will be applied during the 2020-21 season instead.

    I suppose I was wrong judging by the below:

    That doesn't seem fair - if the 12 point deduction is applied this season and they stay up then where's the punishment?

    Beat Birmingham tomorrow and we are safe. Lose that one and I can see no more points this season - likely relegation with Barnsley and Hull. Two draws might be enough to drag down Hudds or Wigan and maybe even Sheff Weds. It is still in our hands. Amazing really.

    They might be jammy, but when you consider who else will be in the playoffs, Forest and probably Fulham and West Brom/Brentford, it would be extraordinary for them to win them

    The punishment is a 12 point deduction.

    It's not a 'however many points it needs to relegate a team' deduction.
