Nottingham Forest defender Joe Worrall has threatened strike action if the Championship season was cancelled without promotion or relegation.
"If they null and void the season, I'd strike 100%," Worrall, 23, told BBC Radio Nottingham."We are in the play-off spots and doing so well for goodness sake. It's non-negotiable, they can't null and void the season."0 -

"We can't talk about winning the League because there's still a long long way to go" a Liverpool fan was quoted as saying pre the suspension of games..
"They can't bloody abandon the League. Everyone knows we would have won it!" said the very same fan the following week2 -

Football used to be about the fans, but now it is about the money and the power. The clubs at the top of the pyramid will not allow that to change. You can't have relatively small clubs like Nottingham Forest beating them to glory because they are well managed. Ultimately, they like the fact that the best players get paid an obscene amount as it is what puts them out of reach. They can afford them, rivals can't.3

Football clubs have spent years doing as they please. Now, bound (sort of) by government advice they don’t like it. It’s the first time they’ve ever been told what they can and can’t do.
Completely unprecedented times.4 -
One idea that has been put forward is a points-per-game model, weighted by whether those games were home or away:

How can you change the rules of a competition midway through?1 -
