A quick trip to the continent, and a fascinating build. Start with a communist era bowl, decide to redevelop it, and simply build a new stadium inside the old one...We were almost (possibly) a sister club...

Red Bull Arena - Stadt Leipzig

    RasenBallsport Leipzig - TheSportsDBcom

    Krestovsky/Zenit
come south west - a bit closer to home (Krestovsky is built on the docks - The best stadium in St Petersburg is the Petrovsky, proper eastern europe floodlight porn.

Good turnout of about 80 for a game arranged about 3 weeks beforehand.

Copped Boothferry Park in 1980-81.  Arrived from London at Hull Paragon, then on d.m.u. to stadium station on left of photo.
Me too. There were turnstiles on the platform. Proper Charlton

2-0 Hales got both if I remember.

Well done, Addickted - Turnstiles on the platform at Boothferry Park.

I remembered that Hales scored, but had to look up other stats.  Phil Walker got the other.  18 October 1980.  A pitiful crowd: only 3,351.

Great atmosphere behind the goal where the
Torcida stand.  Only £7 in the expensive seats and £1 a pint - and they bring it to you. What’s not to like

No programme. Although when I went in 2011 it was their centenary and they produced a Shirt to mark the occasion so I bought that.

So when this is all over, do us football ground nerds organise a Euro trip to some weird and wonderful ground ??

I would be up for it

    In no particular order.

    Prague
    Budapest
    Bucharest

All cheap as chips and great for doing 3 or 4 games over 3 nights.

Could do all 3 in 3 nights but only if fixtures married up

Are there 2 teams in Bucharest ?

Romania would be fascinating to visit

You don’t want @ElfsborgAddick involved. He will have your passport and money away before the flight takes off. He is an insidious little toad that has ruined my life for the last 4 years.
