Didnt Bowyer say he was just being rested? Wtf is going on at SparrowsAddickted said:0 -
No problem now Bonne is back.Addickted said:0 -
It is almost certainly a waste of time but I would consider, If I was the club, in putting together video evidence of every foul on Williams during a game over a number of games and explain that refs not protecting him is damaging his career. Send it to the authorities as a complaint.6

They might also point out as being ex Palace he has a tendency to go down easily like many other Palace products!MuttleyCAFC said:It is almost certainly a waste of time but I would consider, If I was the club, in putting together video evidence of every foul on Williams during a game over a number of games and explain that refs not protecting him is damaging his career. Seriously though, you make the complaint with some video evidence. That in itself is likely to be a news story as it is unusual and you have then put it into the mind of refs, whatever happens to the complaint.1

Most teams are always running with 4 or 5 injured at a time. Correct me if I'm missing anyone, but right now we have injuries to Page, Green (severity unknown), Field, so probably a bewlo average number of players out. No need to hit the panic button just yet.

They do seem to pile up quite quickly with us though.Exiled_Addick said:Most teams are always running with 4 or 5 injured at a time. When things seem to be going well for us, the worst thing you can say is ' What can seriously go wrong?'.0

but he’s a diving cheat , our player is fouled a lot . 3 -
It’s a fact that he was on the bench for the Barnsley and Stoke games. Since then he’s got a new injury.DOUCHER said:

As good as your sources are I’m going to take a wild guess that they can’t predict injuries that are going to be picked up in the future.4 -
Because Bow tries to play a high tempo pressing game, my take on it is that new players just aren’t fit enough for that way of playing so they tend to get injuries after a couple of matches.

Theyre just a big bunch of Nancy boys...maybe.0 -
We under estimate how many injuries other teams have IMO. Every time we add ours up we include players like Page and Lapslie but if they both played for Hull you would never have heard of them.3

Possibly there has been a diagnosis that recommended surgery and out for season but he has had another diagnosis that has recommended physio and strengthening which has not fully solved it - I dint know so let’s leave it there - point is I’m not trying to claim anything about being ITK just passed on what I was told in good faith as alwaysScoham said:

How fit was he though? Fully fit I would have expected Field to start in a rotated squad. I thought he did well early season, particularly when he came on as a sub when we were defending leads.Scoham said:

I think it is interesting that we signed the extra loanee. Maybe WBA would rather he stayed with us because he might play rather than being in the U23's at the Hawthorns.0 -
We have been particularly badly hit, but yes there is a difference between squad/reserve players being unavailable and star players like Taylor, Cullen, Williams etc. When we played Fulham and drew 0-0, you suspect the result would have been different if Taylor had been fit to start (and Mitrovic had been fit for Fuham)Cafc43v3r said:We under estimate how many injuries other teams have IMO. Genuine question: you dont think that Williams is his own worst enemy by constantly falling over? Graham Souness said recently that in his playing time, it was considered a weakness to show pain. After he picked himself up following a foul on him, Souness would make sure he kicked back the person who fouled him, twice as hard at the best time during the remainder of the game. Souness went on to label many of today's players as "snowflakes". Williams in my mind comes into this category.MuttleyCAFC said:It is almost certainly a waste of time but I would consider, If I was the club, in putting together video evidence of every foul on Williams during a game over a number of games and explain that refs not protecting him is damaging his career. Williams to me does not have the mental strength to compete in an important part of the game, namely the physical side. Other teams know that and it seems they target his huge weakness as we, in turn, seek to exploit weaknesses in other aspects of the game in other players (eg weak in the air, no left foot etc etc). Williams needs to "man up" and stay on his feet more. Grealish and Song are much more effective players this season because they do just that, stay on their feet.8 -
Agree Williams does tend to look to go down first rather than stay on his feet. Can be useful at times getting so many free kicks, breaking up the play, disrupting the opponent's rhythm. Though do wonder how much more he could create if he tried to ride challenges a bit more.1

Williams, Taylor and Alfie Doughty are our only players who seem
to be able to go past defenders easily. So will always be targets for less
skillful, physical defenders! Especially from the Northern Cloggers!1 -
Genuine answer. No. He is being fouled. Worries me that refs may take that view into games. Souness was a dirty bastard. Excellent player but a dirty bastard all the same.PeterGage said:

I watched a ref end Todorov's career against Plymouth. Allowing foul after foul pass unpunished to the point where they probably thought they could have shot him and a foul not be given.3 -

Indeed when you look at the serious injuries we've picked up this season, none of them have come from ready bad tackles, indeed they've usually looked pretty innocuous0 -
Constantly falling over? Funny, I've missed that. Together with all the yellow cards the ref must have given him for simulation. (although most refs seem not to be aware of that regulation)PeterGage said:

Your disntinctly questionable defence of refereeing incompetence (victim blaming, basically) falls over when we consider that as I mentioned above, Derby carried out the same collective practice against Gallagher. Did you watch that? You saw the blood seeping through his sock above the ankle? Was he "falling over" too?

I refer you to my answer to Scoham above - as I said at the time’ I’d be surprised if my source was wrong so that could be the explanation - or he could just have been wrong - who cares I just hope he is ok to play soonTodds_right_hook said:

Of course it was wrong. Unless of course your source is a specialist who recommended Field is out for the season but the medical teams at West Brom and Charlton ignore them.DOUCHER said:
