  • And now Big Vern is surrounded by fielders for Bess: Slip, silly point, two leg slips, two short legs.

Must be room for another ...

The two great things, apart from Crawley's initial reactionary parry, was that he didn't panic when the ball left him and neither of the two slips next to him decided to jump in and catch the rebound.
  • Multiple likes for that.

Outstanding skill and concentration from Zak to a) spot it coming to him, and b) keep his eyes on the ball as he fell to the ground.

They just shew a replay from front-on (ish); Zak never took his eyes off the ball and was even starting a fist pump before he hit the ground!

Thank fudge for that. Overseas tests for us = 4 wins 1 draw. (The draw was Newlands 4years ago). On to PE!
  • Stokes the hero!

Who would've thought Ben Stokes would've  been the Hero ?

    Yep, all of us.
  • That's why Stokes is special. It's not just the number of wickets or runs, it's when he gets them too

With that record England should pay for you to follow them home and away!

Sky came within  seconds of a disaster with that 5 second black out.

    And his catches.

He's taking this "new Botham" tag to extremes: runs, wickets, and plenty of catches standing rather close at second slip.

That first innings on day one wasn’t convincing but aside from that, it was an excellent job well done by the whole team and coaching staff. Onwards and upwards.
  • Stokes to nick MOM off Sibley?

That would be harsh on Sibley - if it wasn't for his steady ton there wouldn't have been the platform for Stokes to plunder the quick runs leading up to the declaration and then his wickets today.

Expect this field  of four short legs is very similar to the one that @PaddyP17 sets for when @Leuth comes onto bowl on a Saturday afternoon.
I knew I recognised it from somewhere

News of the death of the five-day game has been greatly exaggerated!

Test cricket at its finest. Brilliant match all round and credit to both sides.

    Arise Sir Ben!

Bit harsh for S.A. to send 're kock out to face the cameras after that shot.

Stokes motm for me. Pace of his innings gave us the time to take the wickets.

Interesting stat. So far this winter root hasn't been in before the 25th over. Huge credit to Burns Sibley and Denly and a good sign that our top order are starting to provide a platform.

I've criticised Roots captaincy in the past but credit where it's due he got it bang on today.

An important win for the series 1-1
But a massive win for Joe Root who led the team to victory in only the 2nd loss at Newlands since SA were allowed to play test cricket again in 1991. 63 years since England won in Newlands(known as MCC then)

Stick to cricket lads and forget the football.
