You know that bit in Godfather 2, at the funeral? Where you realise that Sonny is going to be executed?TomHards said:6 -
Without making this the Richard Murray thread, so long as he's not involved in the management or running of the club in any capacity I have no objections to him being allowed his seat for life as recognition for all his good work he did in his early days, even if he has now gone from hero to zero it's a new era and we need to leave all that negativity from the Roland era behind us now.TomHards said:

That depends on why you buy a football club. If it’s to make money then you’ve got your work cut out. If it’s to have like a train set or for prestigious reasons so you can invite your rich mates then depending on just how rich you are you might well not mind throwing the cash around.Ultimatum said:Let’s throw 10 mil here, 15 mil there , 2 mil here etc etc... this is real money people 😂. There’s no way these new owners, regardless how rich they are will throw money away. They’re business men who got rich by being clever not throwing it around like it’s nothing.Secondly, how much can we realistically spend with FFP rules?1 -
Fair comment and if that was the Al Fyed era you're referring to, there was a good retort of;TellyTubby said:

Now that it’s (nearly) done, I’d be interested to hear from the usuals, airman, NLA, redhenry etc what the various things they’ve been told over the years were. Even more so, what, if anything, was known about this before it was announced. Was completely out of the blue for most of us but there must’ve been whispers somewhere. Swisdom for example posted that he’d heard it was close.Long live the takeover thread.17

So, do we take it that these representatives that were talking to Newcastle in May are the one and only East Street Investments?carly burn said:Statement has also been sent to the Chronicle: "We can confirm that representatives of His Highness Sheikh Khaled Bin Zayed Al Nahyan are in discussions with Mike Ashley and his team, about the proposed acquisition of Newcastle United Football Club." #nufc
