We had our remembrance service yesterday, and the minutes silence was impeccable observed as always.golfaddick said:There in person.

The fact we can go toe-to-toe with these "big" clubs is fantastic & shows what mentality LB has instilled in them. WBA had Charlie Austin up front....we had Macauley Bonne. They brought on Robson-Kanu & Chris Brunt.....we brought on Aneke & Davison. They are miles apart in terms of experience & quality & that's what makes days like yesterday so special.
As for the ground. Golfie Jnr loved it & said it was a "proper" Premier League one. The home end & the stand opposite the dug ours are impressive. Great away section & stood all game (as it the norm nowdays). Happy to report no smoke bombs so trousers & NEW trainers all survived intact !! Parked in the school opposite.....nearest I've parked to a ground ever.....even beating Barnsley & Filbert street, where both times I somehow parked in a side street less then a minute away.
My only fear now is 2-fold. That Gallagher, Lockyer & Pratley all pick up bookings next week & miss Millwall. Without even one of them we are on thin ice. 2nd fear.....game at Millwall is on Rememberance weekend & no doubt they will be holding a minutes silence. Yesterdays was observed well but think Millwall will be a different kettle of fish. I hope I am proved wrong.The reason we had it early is because, I think, the club are using the Charlton game to remember Jimmy Mizen and Rob Knox and the campaign against knife violence, as they’ve done in the past.22 -

Everybody saying it was a soft penalty. But people should watch the clip again ...... never mind the push and shirt pulling, the defender clearly first kicked Sarr's leg with no chance of getting the ball - and that was the point that Naby fell.
It would have been a foul anywhere outside the box. And it's a foul inside the box.

It maybe considered a soft pen, but Bilic should be more concerned about the decision making of his player who thought kicking him in mid air and then pulling his shirt in the penalty area was such a good idea when the player was going away from goal.0

- Passed it straight to their winger who should have scored
- A couple of long balls went to their keeper rather than Solly
- There was another bad pass in there somewhere too
- Narrowly failed to heroically prevent the first goal. Would have been heroic though. Wasn't his fault; it was a good cross
All in all, a good day, although his determination to play the beautiful game was a little more hair-raising than usual. Telling our Naby to 'just hoof it' would defy the grandeur of Nature, however, so I hope he's not dissuaded.

I don't see Sarr as more than a deputy CB in the Championship. Like the guy but still needs to add some grit and nastiness.1

Of course I'm obsessed! I play up the obsession for show, of course, but I do love the guy. I'm a fan of all our players but Naby manages to combine a few aspects (derided at first, great footballer, slightly unpredictable, completely lovely human) that bring out my fandom most of all. You can see by how the North Upper salutes him that he's a legend in the eyes of many. Also one of our longest-serving players!
You'll also notice that I criticised him four times in that post. I'm not blind. But I like it when he's in our team as I know it means we'll not only defend solidly but also try to play enterprising football.
He's easily Championship level, of course - anyone should be able to see that.17 -
In his last two games, Sarr has scored and been involved in four goals. That is all anybody needs to know.5

Im not criticising because we had Leko, Taylor and Hemed out but Solly and Purrington just aren’t the types of full backs who can play wing backs. Admittedly it was West Brom away who are a good side but thought both were below par. It’s definitely not eithers favoured formation but yes we were limited with our options.Actually the performance from Solly was the sort of slightly below average performance I thought we would get this season but I have been wrong and he’s been very good. Purrington just back from injury so they should both be let off.Thought Cullen was our best player, Gallagher and Pratley yet again put in shifts. Oztumer played well first half but tired quickly. Thought Bonne was left isolated and actually didn’t play that well. But he proved he can be a poacher by getting the goal and he’s continuing to surprise. Really pleased for him.On another note, Sarr rarely seems to play well in a back 3. In theory should suit him but just doesn’t seem to bring the best out of him.Decent point but we’re going to struggle a bit without Williams. Aneke was better then on Wednesday but I’m not sure on him.1

This picture proves my point I think. The ball is Sarr's (not 50/50) and the West Brom defender clearly makes contact. Now I agree it is a soft penalty, I even agree that some refs wouldn't have given it, but I think a fair number would. Football is a contact sport, but when you clatter into people and don't get the ball and cause them to go down it is a foul. A minor foul, in the sense there is no booking, but a foul all the same. In your own penalty area you have a responsibility to be more cautious and assess situations correctly. Had they got to the ball at the same time it would have been different, but Sarr got there marginally earlier.7 -
I was critical of Solly, maybe unfairly against Bristol, but his role in both goals was good to see.
Might not look like much but both times he puts the ball in the right area.4
