Super-typhoon Hagibis

Looks like Hagibis is taking its toll on both the Rugby World Cup and the Japanese Grand Prix this week.
It does beg the question: why hold two major sports events in Japan during Typhoon season? (To be fair, I think typhoon season is considered to be more September, rather than October, but you’d think they’d allow some leeway?)
Looking at past Grands Prix, it appears they’ve been pretty lucky until this year, so maybe they didn’t think it was that risky?
I just find it odd to schedule such events on dates when there is a considerable known risk of disruption like this.

Just seen @ValleyGary ‘s post on the rugby thread, which might explain it. I guess this typhoon is particularly unusual?0

Strongest typhoon to make landfall in Japan for 60 years. Winds up to 165mph.

Am I the only one reading the thread title as Haggis?
Making me quite hungry.

F1 Qualy now moved to 1am Sunday because of it.

It would be ironic, wouldn't it, if the Scottish are knocked out of the World Cup by a Typhoon named after their favourite dish.0
