Looks like Hagibis is taking its toll on both the Rugby World Cup and the Japanese Grand Prix this week.
It does beg the question: why hold two major sports events in Japan during Typhoon season? (To be fair, I think typhoon season is considered to be more September, rather than October, but you’d think they’d allow some leeway?)
Looking at past Grands Prix, it appears they’ve been pretty lucky until this year, so maybe they didn’t think it was that risky?
I just find it odd to schedule such events on dates when there is a considerable known risk of disruption like this.
