You think that's good, our last home defeat was against Coventry on 6th september 2018...Chef_addick said:Saw we have only lost twice this calendar year so far, don't think I've ever known us have so few defeats from January - September.4 -
Another terrific result. Lee Bowyer should be nailed on for Championship Manager of the month for August. What an incredible job he, Johnnie Jackson, Steven Gallen and all the coaching staff have done.

50 years of supporting Charlton. I should feel that this can't last but I dont. They have all the ingredients to challenge top six this season. I like the spirit, the will to win, the togetherness and above all the talent we have. They were good again today. Very good. Defence, midfield, attack. Dillon made some decent saves. Bit if luck never goes amiss away from home. Really trying to stay grounded but it's not bad at the moment and it's looking like an exciting season. COYR!!!7

Still still buzzing here at almost 4am. Brilliant result. Second half we looked unbeatable. Bowyer will be walking on water next.6

For me the true benchmark is against Millwall. Three points from the toolbox and three more at the sidings then with safety in the second division secured. Lord Bowyer should be included in the holy trinity; Lord Bowyer , Sir Chris Powell and Curbs (should halos Slip enter Jimmy Seed and the manager that promoted us to Div One whilst in exile).5

wow, what an afternoon, just got in and still grinning. there is a really special feeling around this team, they could do anything
don't think there was a weak spot out there today
Pearce and Lockyer were superb but I felt the big difference at the back was that every time Phillips had possession one of them would drop back and make themselves available. with the extra option of the easy short pass he didn't have to make any of the panicked clearances we saw last week so his distribution was spot on
we must be an absolute nightmare to play against, we defend as a pack breaking up everything and giving no space anywhere within 20 yards of the goal
and Chuks is incredible, he has so much skill and ridiculously quick feet- someone that big should not be able to do what he can13 -
When was the last time we went unbeaten at home in a calendar year?shine166 said:

Hard to see whose place he will take. But if he's good enough to dislodge one of today's team, then I'm looking forward to seeing him play.Callumcafc said:
He will take us to the next level and help us compete against Leeds, Swansea, Fulham etc.cafcsinger said:We still have Kayal to come back as well. Lee Lee Lee Bowyer!!6 -

Imagine he will come in for Field/Pratley if he's as good as he's meant to be.Davo55 said:

Not sure what point this Reading fan is trying to make...7

Maybe, but I didn't think he had their defensive qualities at the base of the diamond. Will be interesting to see the battle for places now we've got some real competition.Talal said:

That only his team are allowed to be cynical.Callumcafc said:Not sure what point this Reading fan is trying to make...0 -
I think he is probably reffering to us a dirty bunch of players maybe?Callumcafc said:Not sure what point this Reading fan is trying to make...
I would say as a fact that Reading are the worst team we have played in the championship this year. Yes Stoke are bottom, but they at least played decent football.2 -
He'll be needed when Wham recall Cullen in January, if he hasn't forced his way in before.Davo55 said:

Only just realised we are home to Leeds and Swansea, then away to Fulham within 7 days of each other.Callumcafc said:

I’m good at this. I predicted we’d get between 1 and 4 points in August. We got 14. Bingo. What a win. Just enjoy the ride folks.15

@holyjo Hope they weren't coming around to do your obs during the game, as I should imagine your blood pressure would have been somewhat elevated during that.holyjo said:I’m Tom and Dick in hospital and that was just what I needed for a lift !!!! Come on you reds !
watched it - second half looked pretty assured bar two great saves. Penalty was pure Taylor. Hope he never misses one with that approach

Wouldn’t get in the team...😉Fortune 82nd Minute said:
Mate I bet Bauer, Aribo, Dijksteel and Grant are also looking at the results tonight and thinking whilst my bank balance is looking a bit better, I wish I was back with the gang.Oggy Red said:

I was just looking at the results and table - and see Derby languishing in the lower bottom half.
Couldn't help but thinking, I wonder if Krystian Beilik ever wishes that he could've come back to Charlton and rejoined Lee Bowyer's 'journey'?
Still I'm sure they will be enjoying their Saturday nights out tonight in Preston, Middlesbrough and Huddersfield!1 -
No, no, not that up-his-own-arse wingeing Saunders who's made the headlines recently for all the wrong reasons ...... Ron Saunders, tough battling goal scoring centre forward when he played for Charlton.AddicksAddict said:
Later on, I believe he was also a manager somewhere.

25% of the way to safety after 6 games!
Who'd have thought that in July?11 -
another couple of thoughts
was this the ref who everyone expects to be in the Premier League next year? at one point he gave a foul throw but let them have another go
it was good to see the whole ground chanting 'fuck the EFL'. hope this was replicated around the country
our fans are amazing
Williams must be the most fouled player in the country
I haven't seen anything of them this season but West Brom will walk this division if they're good enough to let Field and Leko go out on loan18 -
The more teams that think we’re just a one dimensional, hardworking, dirty side the better. Let them all keep underestimating us, just makes it easier to beat them.17

Joe not going out tonight then? Can't blame him. I expect he is looking forward to the Europa League group stage to be fair, but when they get battered out of sight he will wonder what's left to look forward to, such as a cold dark night in effing Inverness.Fortune 82nd Minute said:

Trouble is, much as I loved him last season, I don't know whom he'd replace now if we got him back.

Just when I thought Leko should have been substituted he goes and scores. Usual heroic display from Cullen and Gallagher and all Four defenders. Leko is probably the weak link but scoring builds confidence and it may be that that is the key with him. Crowd did not stop singing and I just want that buzz every game...There is definitely a real passionate optimism at the club right now in a way intensified by our lack of economic might at this level. It has meant no room for arrogant complacency and this is key to winning games. There is something special about winning against the odds.Great day.9

Thanks Gallagher’s goals and industry, and Williams’ and Leko’s running with the ball we’ve not really missed Aribo. A great player though who would be great to have in the squad.PragueAddick said:
