Brilliant performance. Only slight concern is we missed a couple of extremely good chances like we did vs Forest. Earnt ourselves the penalty this week though.

First half was much more scrappy. Not sure what he did, but Bowyer tweaked something at half time then it was one way traffic. Leko’s goal was a lucky deflection but we absolutely deserved to win.

A week before the season, I thought we’d have 3 points or less from August. Instead it’s 14, unbeaten, and clear second in the table. Bowyer and Jacko are geniuses. To gel that team together, with 14 new signings, lots of whom were last minute, and to have them playing so fluently from the get go. Great stuff. Theoretically we should get better yet as well. Trying to keep my feet on the ground, but the longer it goes on the more we look like the real deal. We can play the pretty stuff but also battle away with the best of them.

13% of the season gone, 28% of the way to safety.

EE Aye, EE Aye, EE Aye' Oh , up the football league we go , when we win promotion, this is what we'll sing, we are Charlton, we are Charlton, Bowyer is our KING!
The first time I sung that, it was "...Saunders is our KING!"

If we can beat Birmingham next, the fixtures favour us to make points on a number of those around us.

Hopefully we'll still be a point ahead of Leeds going into the final game of the season.
  • Also their keeper trying to play reverse mind games with Taylor at the peno.

    LOLZ.

Christ imagine going through October with a similar points return to August!!

I’m Tom and Dick in hospital and that was just what I needed for a lift !!!! Come on you reds !

watched it - second half looked pretty assured bar two great saves. Penalty was pure Taylor. Hope he never misses one with that approach

When I finally wake up from this dream it’s going to be one hell of a comedown. This isn’t actually happening right?  I just want to stay asleep for now.
    Thank you Lee Bowyer.

Amazing, Lee Bowyer is a genius - what a manager! Robnson was useless but credit to him (i think) for bringing LB to the club.

Another well deserved 3 points. Unbeaten in August who would have thought that at the start of the month!
  • Great result! This just rolls on and on. COYR

Unbeaten and 14 points accrued in August...outstanding.
    It's brilliant, isn't it?

I was just looking at the results and table - and see Derby languishing in the lower bottom half.

Couldn't help but thinking, I wonder if Krystian Beilik ever wishes that he could've come back to Charlton and rejoined Lee Bowyer's 'journey'?
  • Amazing start to the season!

The thing is, the longer we go on getting results - and you can see that we have an immense resilience about us especially with Lockyer and Pearce at the back,, the more confidence we will get to push on . However, there is still a long, long way to go.
There is definitely that now, trademark, Bowyer togetherness that we could help us along the way.

Likewise with the caveat that Leeds are no lower than third place ;).
  • Conceded 5 goals in 6 games - defence has done really well!

    Not in this division
