Great news. The only way I see all this happening today is that Bowyer/Gallen made Rat agree that if they sold Dijksteel, they could use the money on loans.6

Does anyone actually believe the RD had the slightest clue what went on today? Bowyer, JJ and Gallen are bloody miracle workers for what they’ve just pulled off.
If we land Hemed tomorrow it’s just going to be the icing on the cake.

Possibly photos taken in the event we completed the signing in time!0

Well from the pictures - it was either done a lot earlier today or they were convinced it would be done as the pictures are clearly in bright daylight!0

Seriously the squad we have is capeable of staying up, might need a few weeks to gel and we will need to stay patient.
But overall what an awesome day, well done everyone at CAFC 🍻👏15 -
Surely this is now the best squad we've had since Powell left?26

(1) We're not being relegated this season
(2) We may just have become dark horses for the Play-Offs24 -

Most excited I've been at the start of the season since early prem years. What a rollercoaster of emotions!54

I should imagine some of the Dijksteel money was spent today getting today’s 3 or is there a 4th through the door.
if hemed signs we’ve got what we needed.
Genuine championship experience4 -

What a transformation! What an eye-opener of a day!
Full marks to Bowyer and Gallen, awesome business.
From being laughed at, to bringing in all this last minute quality.
Did Duchatelet really sanction using the Dijksteel money for loans and transfers?
Did he really turn down £4.5m for Taylor?
Did he really sanction £4m bid for Ivan Toney?
What brought that on?
Aah, who cares.
Looking forward to the season now

I love Lee Bowyer and Steve Gallen. Staying up is still the priority but let’s get to that 50 point mark as quickly as we can, then we can start to look upwards.4 -

I wouldn't get too excited, our Championship rivals have been spending money like it's going out of fashion!
But we've given ourselves a real chance of staying up and having a decent season which is the most important thing, something which I didn't think would be possible on our low budget.11 -
Any holidays in May are a write off. Play off bound.20

DONE DEAL | Charlton sign Beram Kayal on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion
8th August 2019 22:00pmCharlton have completed the deadline day signing of Beram Kayal on a season-long loan from Brighton & Hove Albion.
The Israel international becomes the Addicks' third signing of the day following the arrivals of Sam Field and Jonathan Leko.
The 31-year-old midfielder has 42 caps for his country and has made 37 Premier League appearances over the last two seasons.
Charlton's latest arrival said: “I felt welcome from the very first minute in the club. I’m very grateful for the opportunity to come in and play football regularly. I just want to say thanks to everyone here, for me it is a great move.
“We play football to win games. I promise to do everything to bring my experience, to bring my quality, to help my teammates to win games and to give happiness to the fans.”
Charlton Athletic boss Lee Bowyer explained he was delighted to add another quality player in midfield: “He’s a massive signing. He’s an exceptional midfielder, as you can imagine, me being a midfielder, I’m excited. I’ve been watching him for a while just thinking ‘I don’t think we’ll be able to get him’ because of his qualities, because of his experience, but thankfully we’ve managed to get him through the door. He’s going to bring so much to us and he’s a winner.”
Kayal began his career at Maccabi Haifa before joining Celtic in 2010. He made the move to Brighton in 2015 where he has played 118 league games.

As someone who doesn't watch a ton of football other than Charlton, I have only, knowingly, seen one of these four most recent exciting signings (Leko) play before, and that was late cameo in one game.So what can all you arm-chair scouts tell me about them? What kind of players are we getting?

Stay up and beat Millwall, that is a good season and all I want.15

The events of the last 2 days justify what Bowyer said yesterday after the Dijksteel transfer, that it was the decision of the football management and not Roland, and that he would get (most of) the money to reinvest in the team. I was confident this was the case, and happy that for once I was right.
Indeed Bowyer and Roland have an interesting relationship. I think for the first time Roland actually respects his management team (Bowyer and also Gallen) instead of treating them like puppets or nonentities. It does seem that Bowyer is now able to tell things straight to Roland and negotiate until he gets promises that won't be broken. And then be left to get on with things with Gallen.8 -
Wonder if the Hemed deal is permanent0
