Although I agree cuts do play a part, I think it's a sad reflection of London and some Londoners, that only police on the street will stop people stabbing and shooting each other on such a regular basis, in broad day light. Even with a police force at full strength, they can't be everywhere can they? I think another problem is lack of respect for authority and a police force with reduced powers, along with the cutsCroydon said:

not coming to charlton games - bit ridiculous as im sure he gets hospitality, so him not being there does not make a difference.10 -
The problem won't be magically solved by more police now because it has been allowed to grow into something that is now more difficult to stop. More police would have helped prevent the problem in the first place alongside some other important things of course.1

If an individual actually has the mindset to think to themself, there's less police so I should be okay to kill someone, there's a more underlying problem imo, especially when you consider the amount of CCTV (that these peopĺe are totally aware of) in London these days. Petty thieves and these moped robbers, yes, I can see that, but cold blooded murderers?
I think a greater, more encompassing problem, is the complete lack of respect for authority and the lack of powers the police have to help prevent these crimes occurring in the first place.2 -

I think a greater, more encompassing problem, is the complete lack of respect for authority and the lack of powers the police have to help prevent these crimes occurring in the first place.I seen a video on the news this week where a group of half a dozen blokes chased a guy down the road and stabbed him all the while their mate was driving behind filming it. There is a more underlying problem if they feel they can do that and record it1 -

I’m not going to Charlton if Boris becomes PM.9

We're all going to hell in a handcart if that duplicitous, self-serving, philandering, nest-feathering incompetent becomes PM.
Though I haven't completely made up my mind about him.14 -

As someone who has worked, shopped, socialised in Central London for 26 years, lived in and had my whole family based in inner London and its suburbs all my life, i personally don't really see any noticeable change in London under the Mayorship of Khan from Johnson from Livingston. They have very little impact.
There's a whole heap of society issues that have impacted upon society changes (take for example the hot topic of increase in knife crime) but i don't see any real difference in direction and governship under any different mayor. So for that reason i think people that blame Johnson for ruining their city or Khan for ruining their city are just looking for an excuse to wage their political spite.
Probabably one for the House of Commoners group rather than the main board

You wouldn’t be saying this if you had to drive a cab for a living.AFKABartram said:As someone who has worked, shopped, socialised in Central London for 26 years, lived in and had my whole family based in inner London and its suburbs all my life, i personally don't really see any noticeable change in London under the Mayorship of Khan from Johnson from Livingston. So your saying you haven’t seen any changes in London under the 3 mayors. Your either blind or they are not doing the job they were elected to do.
The latest disaster ‘ Mayor Khant’ and I have spelt that right is to flood London with an extra 80,000 private hire vehicles and at the same time make the roads smaller by installing cycle lanes then implement the ULEZ zone.
I haven’t even began to scratch the surface.

Encouraging people to cycle rather than drive and, if they have to drive, to drive low emitting vehicles sounds pretty sensible to me given London’s shocking air quality and the general impact on the environment. Exactly what a mayor should be doing really.Acab said:

ACAB the gist of your post revolves around private hire vehicles, not congestion. Perhaps you should venture south of the river.3

I want to see the map of how he gets to Charlton via Kent without going through London? Is he coming up the river?
I’m always amused by people stuck in traffic complaining about the traffic as though they are not part of the problem, it’s everyone else10 -
Usually the problem is bad driving causing stupid accidents.0
