  • Yes, The Doors definitely. Strangely though, also 10CC and Supertramp. There’s me showing my age.
  • The Popguns

Defined by people knowing I like them and talking to me about them. A bit like how supporting a football club defines you.

  • Guess it was my parent's music leading to what I liked in my teens:.

    Beach boys
    Beatles
    Stones
    Hendrix
Meat Loaf (and why not I ask!)
    Blur/Oasis/Supergrass etc.

If I had to pick one, probably Beach Boys, even though I don't listen to them much these days... Perhaps I will...

early 80s soul - bit of a catch all, but the sort of stuff I'd hear when I was out but would always go home and listen to John Peel and I now find I don't listen to the "difficult" Peel stuff but do listen to Oddysey, Chic, Shalamar etc. The 17 year old me would have expected it to be the other way round. The 53 year old me is happy that it's turned out this way and really doesn't want to revisit Theatre of Hate.

Same here. Those are the kind of bands that I liked when I started loving music... Guess we are of similar age.

911, Boyzone, Westlife, Spice Girls, Blue, Backstreet Boys, N'Sync, 98 Degrees, etc.

Can't say they "define" me though, as I seldom listen to their music now. :joy:
  • The Jam
    The Clash
    Bob Dylan and the Band
  • Public Enemy
    NWA
    Cypress Hill

Before I went to my first rave in '94.
To this day today, my preferred music is still Tech-house, techno and minimal, although I don't mind a bit of rock now and again
  • Temptations
    Sly and The Family Stone
    Allman Brothers
    Fleetwood Mac
     ZZ Top
