This takeover thread is clearly cursed. Unless Henry is prepared to piss in all 4 corners of it, I think we ought to start a new one.0

It looks like the knight in shining armour is still around. Come on Reg get that bus out!1

Look, I'm an open-minded person but if you get off on that sick sort of thing then try Donald Trump.killerandflash said:This takeover thread is clearly cursed. Unless Henry is prepared to piss in all 4 corners of it, I think we ought to start a new one.

Even without specifics it can be put on record that the fans think minutes of meetings produced by the club are incomplete and misleading.

The problem is that owners tend to mad egotistical maniacs who don't like hugging. Oh for a consortium of local businessmen.Raith_C_Chattonell said:
Can you not (using your special skills @Airman) introduce Muir to the new lot? That way they can form a consortium, the risk can be spread and we can all be happy.Airman Brown said:
Muir is now the only Australian investor, which suggests they are in no position to complete, but the party who walked away after being quoted more than £70m before Christmas are now back at the table.CheshireAddick said:So, any takeover news yesterday?......please!!
Group hug everyone ... anyone?

Why any sensible investor would want to but shares in RD's main Belgian company is quite beyond me, given his inability to quickly dispose of an investment that he does not want and does not like. If he took much needed psychologically help, I sure he would be told to let go and move on.1

Duchatelet is right.15 -
Just to be clear are you saying the consortium now only has 1 Australian in it I.e. Muir plus the Americans who are currently non commital at this time? In other words the original consortium is now down to Muir ?Airman Brown said:

Is he alone when it comes to commitment to financial investment in that particular consortium?Airman Brown said:

Shocking if true and when you consider Murphy was literally asking all and sundry to get financially involved with his project.Airman Brown said:

He even asked me!!
I guess people started to see through his little plan. I think he has his heart in the right place. His brain is not necessarily fully engaged though.0 -
That’s my interpretation, but I’m not certain. The Red Robin said:

What is apparent is that Muir is still keen, but he’s not going to do it on his own. That’s never been his aim.1 -

Can you disclose the nationality of the consortium back at the table?Airman Brown said:
Don’t believe it is Usmanov.PragueAddick said:
I know about Usmanov, and I am 90% certain it wasn't him, since the timeline isn't right and my understanding is that he never took it beyond the initial read of a basic sale document.Bolderhumphreyreid said:Am I right in thinking that it was Usmanov who was quoted £70m previously?0 -

Update 10.2.19
The Aussie consortium is a lot less complicated. It's just Muir but he's still around.
There is group of unknown origin who LDT said he hadn't fobbed off by saying the price was £70m+ before Christmas but who are back at the table. But who blinked first, them or LDT?
There may be a British group but still no one seems to know who they are or if they still real players or just a convenient tool to try and drive up the price.
Keith Harris has re-emerged as a broker for the Aussie deal and appears to have been the source for the Jim White "he's gone" stories as well as a great "guess who I had in the back of my cab?" Scoop for taxi-lad.
Duchatelet, who has been putting off any investment in player contracts or paying staff bonuses while cutting any other costs he can find, thinks he can leave the club in a mess but still get a slice of future success. He's said to be asking for future payments based on sell on fees for Lookman, Gomez et all and possibly payments on promotion to the championship and even, incredibly, the premier league.
Meanwhile, Bowyer had he legs pulled from under him when Grant was sold but not adequately replaced in the January window. The manager seems less positive of late and questioned whether even an out of contract player would be funded by the irrational Belgium rat.
Are we there yet?12 -
Has Keith Harris "re-emerged"?0

Assumed so, thanks Airman. Sounds like we're back to square one with the Aussies at least.Airman Brown said:

According to the summary he hasChizz said:Has Keith Harris "re-emerged"?0 -
It seems to suggest he stopped being involved and has now become involved again. Whereas, what seems more likely is that he has been involved with one (probably not more than one) consortium since the very beginning.Henry Irving said:

I’ve just read 8 more pages and it is no closer and nobody knows anything new apart from shit they are being feed, I would say what Henry says but I am dyslexic and can’t remember all of the letters.3

Perhaps not. Too many cooks can spoil the broth.0 -
Well, he needs to find some partners from somewhere. All this 'could be next week' stuff can be translated as 'could be next week...if Muir can find investors willing to partner up with him.'Henry Irving said:The Red Robin said:

At the moment it doesn't sound like he's anywhere near that.0 -
Bob Whitehand is right, no one will buy us until Duchatelet drops his price ... We’re Doomed Capt’n Mainwaring, we’re Doomed5

Duchatelet will own us until he dies. This has only just dawned on me.1
