Doucher, I have given you a little bit of stick, not much at all, but I will admit here and there in the past, but that was a sensible post that people will respect. You clearly do know some people who will know more than many, but it is sometimes the attitude you portray of 'only what I say is true' when ultimately, as been proven time and time again, there are many things that are put out in the public which are not true, I have been victim of this before having posted a couple of things where it was told in/by extremely reliable forms. Essentially, my advice would be to carry on posting what you know and have been told, as people do appreciate it, but bring down the tone sometimes, it will make your life much smoother on here. An example is the post you have written above, it's far nicer.DOUCHER said:Overall I’m very disappointed in just bringing Parker in but I know nothing about him so have to trust gallen’s opinion and I think somebody said he’s pacey so that’s good.
To have brought in some real quality recognised replacements would have been better than getting any of my predictions right which ultimately, is meaningless. I got the bowyer will get the money / his decision bit wrong - my fault for believing what I was told at start of window that there would be no major player sales and assuming that would mean I’d there was, he would get the funds. I also based that assumption on Bauer not being sold in summer when he could have trousered the cash. So that bit was an assumption not fact. However:
In reflection, did we bring in 2 midfielders and a left back: yes - we nearly got dasilva but not quite. Did Clarke go; yes , did we turn down a £2m bid at start of window for grant looks very possible, did we still aim to bring 2 in on decline day: yes
Am I happy with all that? Not really - I’d take getting it all wrong and making the signings we have plus keeping grant but there you go - let’s see what happens but the sooner rd clears off the better - nothing changed in that respect and I will continue to pass on what I get told and if I add s bit of opinion to it, i’ll try and be clearer: over and out, for now16 -
There you go, what are we all complaining about. All is not lost.ross1 said:A lot of players had their contracts cancelled yesterday, which means they can sign for other clubs. Not saying we will, but you never know

the message i got was we were looking at several players that have had their contracts paid up or are currently free. Apparently SG and LB will be meeting Monday after getting the fleetwood game out the way to see what LB wants to do. would be short term deal (6 months etc..)1

Is this a genuine signing or just allowing a non-leager to get some work experience like teens do at school. I'm sorry but are we a football club with history and status or a complete laughing stock....oh wait!!!Pringle said:Chap called Abraham Odoh has signed on loan from Tooting & Mitcham..

The Sky listing had Clarke to Bradford and Parker to us as undisclosed.killerandflash said:

does seem to be a new thing. effectively moving on for free and they are automatically playing for their new deal with a new clubkillerandflash said:

Was done yesterday. I assume the club are aware it would have been attacked in the circumstances if mentioned. It may be just a development squad trial. The Prince-e-Paul said:

He only came off the bench mainly for Tooting, so certainly U23. Given his small stature, I'd assume he's a winger.0

Sunderland, Barnsley, Blackpool, Portsmouth & Luton have conceded less.Leuth said:Not what I wanted or expected. But Bowyer and Jackson clearly see something in Parker. We just have to put up with it now.
We have the best defence and arguably midfield in the league. Let's show some grit.
How did you calculate we have the best defence ?
Arguably best midfield & yet they struggle to score a goal between them.
Very good maybe, but the best ?5 -
Apeeciate your hindsight honesty @Doucher.
Still struggling a bit though with idea that we turned down £2M for Grant then sold him for a reported £1.5M?2 -

Surely the fee from udders is 1.5m rising to 2m if he plays 50 odd games ?Weegie Addick said:Apeeciate your hindsight honesty @Doucher.

In the bizarre world of Duchatelet, one day he thinks I will keep this squad together, the next take any concrete offer.0 -
I think it is improving and may well be the best at the moment, although as you say, there is competition. Ability wise, we do seem to have a good case for having the best midfield, but it also seems to lack goals. This is an issue when you can't rely on the strikers who have been getting them. I think with Aribo still out, Fosu should be playing for this reason if no other.Covered End said:

Also that remark about daSilva. Where did that come from? Admittedly I may have missed it on here, as @Covered End likes to point out.Weegie Addick said:Apeeciate your hindsight honesty @Doucher.

I also only found out this morning from my erstwhile host that Sunderland paid £4m for Grigg. He wonders if that is a sensible price, and I agree, but it shows both that they have some money and are prepared to use it to get up this season.

Since we got an actual left-back in. How many goals have we conceded lately?Covered End said:

Just catching up here. re AFCW, you have both forgotten one thing. They are on course to move into their new stadium next year. They (the fans) have financed that stadium themselves. They will have a 10k capacity, probably filling it regardless of whether they are relegated, due to the pride factor, as we had when we returned to The Valley. They will have corporate hospitality revenue, perhaps a naming rights sponsor. I reckon that should see a 150% increase in revenue.
All the work of their own fans.1 -

I dunno. £4m. and then his wages. I think that is more than the pathetic TV money you get in Div 2. Deffo right about the pressure, too.JamesSeed said:

Where has £4 million come from, sky were reporting £1.5. He has never done it in the championship has he?PragueAddick said:

Good timing @PragueAddick was just about to link you into this http://priceoffootball.com/accrington-stanley-the-milkman-of-human-kindness/ maybe we should start a new thread though?PragueAddick said:@Cafc43v3r , @harveys_gardener

May have missed it on here but Gallen is apparently speaking to Bowyer on Monday about some out of contract / free agents / players where clubs will pay to terminate a players contract and there for available to clubs outside the window.
Perhaps there’s some interesting options there?4 -
Only a text from my Sunderland supporting host in Eltham, don't take it as authoritative. Think any fee above £1m assuming a long contract is risky for a club in their position. Would of course have been happy if we had spent even £1.Cafc43v3r said:

Just had a quick Google, "deal worth up to 4 million" god knows what that actually means.Charlton_Stu said:
