Steer: 7.5 - Dealt very well with most Burton put his way, distribution good for the most part too.
Solly: 6.5 - Solid for the most part, wasn't able to get forward much.
Bauer: 6.5 - Him and Pearce dealt with most of what was thrown their way, particularly in the air. All those corners but they never looked like scoring from one of them.
Pearce: 7 - As above, though I do wonder how he gets away with manhandling strikers so much. Did well to get on the end of the flick for the winner.
Sarr: 7 - Looks uncomfortable with a winger running at him as you'd expect from a CB and LB but put in several vital interceptions and blocks, and for the most part used the ball well.
Lapslie: 6.5 - Great energy shutting down the play in the middle of the park, fantastic prospect. Needs to be a bit more wise with his use of the ball sometimes but that will come in time.
Bielik: 5 - Poor to be honest. Caught on the ball often and didn't create much. Wasn't sad to see him come off.
Aribo: 6 - Some good touches as usual but created little.
Fosu: 5.5 - As above didn't really get in to the game much as an attacking propsect. Virtually anonymous first half hour.
Taylor: 6 - Battled and harried as usual but was feeding off scraps for the most part.
Grant: 6 - Kept Burton defenders on their toes but had very little to work with and was caught off-side on numerous occasions. Weak penalty but went in so who cares.

Bielik: 4.5 - at fault for PK and he looked lost at CDM today. slow to combat the quick Burton midfield.
Aribo: 6 - hustled and bustled to the final whistle.
Fosu: 5.5 - gives the ball away cheaply and too quickly sometimes.
Taylor: 6 - wanted the ball over the top too much. didnt come show to the ball enough.
Grant: 7 - always wants that dangerous though ball. He is offsides a lot, but at least he knows where the goal is. his PK was weak and lucky to not get saved

Bauer: 7 - One of only a few to show up in the first half, is good to have him back
Pearce: 6.5 - Gets half a mark for the goal, paniked a bit much at times when clearing I felt
Sarr: 6 - Same as Solly; felt that Burton really exploited us down the flanks tonight and we struggled to handle them
Lapslie: 7.5 - Loses .5 for the miss, was everywhere though, didnt stop harrying them, didnt stop running all night
Bielik: 5 - Unlucky with the pen, invisible otherwise, was the correct decision to sub him
Aribo: 6 - Very poor by his standards
Fosu: 5 - Giving him a mark because he had a better second half, that first half though was as bad as Kaikai!!

Fans: 10 never stopped singing and encouraging from first to last minute
If I had been a Burton fan I'd have been gutted with the result. They played some nice football for this division but with no cutting edge although full credit to our red brick wall which kept them out. Classic smash and grab. Onwards and upwards.6 -

Referee: 6 I've not watched it back, but being about 20 metres away, I can't believe he gave them the penalty. Different to all the other refs who let so much go, he didn't allow a lot of contact at all.
Steer: 8 Made a number of excellent saves. Made a bit of a mess of one cross. Overall excellent.
Solly: 7 Good game, defended well.
Bauer: 8 Excellent, especially as his 2nd game back from injury. Bauer & Pearce were a rock of steel in the second half.
Pearce: 9 Outstanding, immense all game. I literally think he won every header & then scored the winner. I think his was the outstanding Charlton performance of the season.
Sarr: 7.5 Played well apart from when Steer made an excellent save to prevent an early OG from him.
Lapslie: 7 Lots of energy, good game, he just lacks that bit of experience and class.
Bielik: 5.5 Ok, but not good.
Aribo: 8 I thought one of his best games. I've never seen him so involved for the 90 mins & win so many tackles.
Fosu: 5 I don't know if he's sulking re his contract offer, but another poor performance.
Taylor: 7 Tried hard. I just wish he'd concentrate on playing/heading the ball rather than the man.
Grant: 7 Looked dangerous but got caught offside so many times. But he won & scored the penalty.

Referee: 4 one of the worst I have seen this season. 2 very soft pens.
Steer: 8 Made one quality save in the first half and was constantly under pressure the whole game.
Solly: 7.5 Hardworking, even by his usual standards, he will be exhausted after this.
Bauer: 8 Put in a full 90 minute tough shift
Pearce: 9 MOM, not just the goal, but his defensive cover play (with numerous vital headers and tackles) was top class. He is a proper defender.
Sarr: 7.5 Worried me early on, but it is very tough to get a cross past him from the wing. He blocked everything.
Lapslie: 6 Looked exposed and struggled
Bielik: 6 Not his best position
Aribo: 7 Plenty of work from him, but not up to his usual tricky standard
Fosu: 6 Looked awful in the first half, much better in the second.
Taylor: 7 Great work rate as usual, but not much luck on the ball
Grant: 7 never really had any golden chances to score, and almost mucked up the pen.
