CAFC staff threaten to sue Duchatelet over unpaid bonuses

Depends on what you mean by willingly. It's not easy to take a principled stand against your boss's direction when your job would be at risk.AFKABartram said:
Won’t just be those who went to the police to target supporters, I assume it will also potentially include those who were willingly were monitoring here, tracking posts, cutting and pasting posts in order to collate and provide (attempted) evidence, targeted filming of individuals during protests, stuck up police warnings on big screens at key moments, publicly defended regime and lambasted supporters, tried to force supporters into signing behavioural contracts, pumped up music in the car park to try and dilute protests, spinning cutbacks as environmental conscience etc.Goonerhater said:by staff do you include Burger Boy ?? why help that turd
Be very clear on who and what you are supporting would be my view
We have a choice between throwing everyone under a bus for the sake of some bad apples, or accepting that we might be benefitting the latter minority by doing, what in my view, is the right thing by the rest of the staff.
I'd rather stand in the latter tent than the first, to be frank. They're mostly good people doing their best for the club whilst a reckless few exercise their foolish war against their own 'customers'.
I'm quite clear on who I'm supporting, even if the pieman and the prman benefit.9 -
Lovely thing is karmaAFKABartram said:

This is the guy who filmed protesting fans at Sparrows Lane and at The Valley, right? I’m not saying he had a choice but seems a bit odd if he’s excluded from your criticism above.AFKABartram said:Good luck in your new role @sadamson84
Surely it’s about the principle of the club cheating junior staff, not selective judgement?9 -
All staff are equal but some staff are more equal than othersAirman Brown said:AFKABartram said:

If you are focusing on junior staff, aren’t you equally applying selective judgement?Airman Brown said:AFKABartram said:

No one is doubting that any of this is wrong, but that wasn’t the basis of my post.0 -
Unfortunately taking the moral high ground sometimes means helping those who have been actively trying to undermine you.AFKABartram said:

In the scheme of things, in this instance, a price worth paying I think.
And then call them out again and again if they don't show any gratitude.2 -
Not being paid, confirmed by Cawley
I hope they all walk, terrible.4 -
Very little in the email to staff;
"The club had a very bad financial year last season and because of this the club will not be paying incentivised bonuses"
Just wondering if anyone will be there tonight to let me into the fans forum......
Last one out turn off the lights (oh hold on...... they are already turned off)0 -
Legal action will be the least of Roland’s worries when Doris, the secret pyromaniac tea lady wins the lottery tonight.2
-
Confused by the wording. Are these bonuses CONTRACTUAL or not as he says that "the club will continue to fulfil contractual obligations" but that it won't be paying "incentivised bonuses"
Either the bonuses are contractual (i.e. they have to be paid) or they're based on performance (whether individual or the club) in which case it's possible that the club has no obligation to pay them?

no way was that written by Roland15

From that email he is still claiming the delay is with the Aussies and their paperwork0
-
Staff are going to release their own statement for those who dont have Twitter access17 -
Can’t the bonuses be deferred until he sells up?0
-
Agreed ... there’s not one ‘Huh’ in there and he hasn’t used Google TranslateLargeAddick said:no way was that written by Roland

I hope the statement from the staff is more factual than the statement my and NLAs lawyer had a few months back from"member of staff'3
-
Incentivised bonuses have to be paid unless agreed upon prior to them being due, if they have been agreed in writing surely. People will have worked longer hours for free to trigger these payments, only to be screwed over.
The club has no clue what is going on.
But all this proves that the boycott and not a penny more stance is having a very big effect on the club, shame it is the staff that are now suffering.
JUST SELL AND GO, this isn't fun for any of us.3 -
No one would deliberately use the term "incentivised bonuses" unless they were wanting to obfuscate. You can't "incentivise" a bonus, you can only incentivise staff. Why not say this year's "discretionary" bonus is zero, that would be 100% clear.
Bonuses are either contractually pre-fixed or contractually discretionary. Either can be based on performance targets set by management to "incentivise" staff to perform.
Sounds more like "....the club will not be paying the bonus you were advised of in order to incentivise you to work towards minimising my losses..." but couldn't find the words.

"we need to restore the club's financial health"
Bit of a pisstake coming from the person who's been running it into the ground for the past 4 and a half years.51 -
Murray sitting back whilst RD shit on the fans and players was disappointing, but ultimately football is just a game at the end of the day
Murray sitting back whilst RD shits on people’s livelihoods, many of whom will struggle without such bonus, is absolutely vile.25 -
The key sentence he missed out was: "This utter fucking mess is due to my pathetic football experiments over the last four and half years, using this club as part of it and that is why, if we are not promoted this season, Charlton will have been at it's consistently longest lowest position since the twenties, I am so sorry for this!
Roland2 -
Quite unbelievable really, he's pissed off the fans and relied upon staff to stick up for him and his idiotic running of the club and now he sticks it to them. He really is a prick. I hope they all go on strike and stop a game from going ahead, he will be well and truly fucked by that.14
-
It's the fault of RD and KM that this club is in such a bad way. Just when you think he couldn't sink any lower.6
-
But Roland doesn’t do failure?1
-
I still remember Katie saying how matchday revenue was only 35% of total income and therefore not that important. A breathtaking display of financial ignorance, and I'm sure an intentional belittling of fans' place in the scheme of things.
Bet you'd like that lost income back now, wouldn't you, Roland, you stupid prick.
29 -
League one club. That wasn't what you bought though, eh Roly?
You bought a CHAMPIONSHIP club and fucked it up.
EPIC FAIL!15 -
Typical that when all things Belgian become fashionable and successful we get the one useless Belgian toerag. Being a Charlton fan is certainly unique. Waiting for that moment when Australia gets wiped out by a huge meteor....2
