Slightly off topic and not sure if it has been mentioned before but it was alleged to me at the weekend that following the stop go works at the training ground and serious problems with Foots Cray Rugby Club's car park, writs had been served on the club in the absence of remedial works. So sounds like it's far from plain sailing for a certain individual at the moment.oohaahmortimer said:I reckon Roly has clearly asked for financial cuts to be made at any cost even if it does involve the staff themselves and for that you ask a crawly bum licker filthy pond life slime ball to carry out this filthy act, can anyone think of one .
Ive had to cancel 3 times after something came up.ForeverAddickted said:

Not wanting an argument but I'm correct. Ask the footballers who were taxed on bonuses they didn't receive that we're sacrificed to avoid tax. They were taxed on the basis of contractual entitlement, nothing to do with what went through PAYE, otherwise tax would be avoided all the time. PAYE is a system of collecting tax that goes through PAYE, not a system for identifying tax liability.
HMRC page:
For PAYE purposes
If the employee isn’t a director, operate PAYE on the earlier of when:
you actually make the payment
the employee is entitled to be paid, even if the pay isn’t drawn until later
The last few words are reflecting the legal basis of tax lability being tax is paid when you are entitled to receive what you are due.
Not saying HMRC would enforce it in this case but it's an exposure over which they are entitled to have concerns.1 -
After 5 cancelled bookings at the same Hotel, booking.com won't allow you to book there again without paying first.IdleHans said:Hotel Stayen is on Booking.com. Bit you can still book without paying and free cancellation at hotels.com.
Or so I've been told13 -
It would be outrageous if Hotel Stayen was fully booked until RD sold up.Addickted said:

It absolutely beggars belief that people still go to the home games and thus put money into RDs pocket. What will it take for them to wake up and smell the coffee.Henry Irving said:

But breaking a lifetime habit that in some cases has been in excess of 50 or 60 years is very hard to do.
Personally I have been supporting this club home and away since 1967.
But this will be my last season if Roland is still here next season.3 -
Exactly right._MrDick said:The bottom line to all of this is the ‘boycott’ and ‘not a penny more’ campaigns are starting to bite. In business, cash is king and with a reduction in attendances, cost saving at the margins, sale of players etc, the cash flow is taking a pounding which means Le Rat is now having to put his hand in Le pocket far too often for his liking. What needs to happen now is for a creditor to take him to court over unpaid bills and the court sends in the bailiffs. Really feel for the staff, it’s not nice and would happily contribute to a fund to support any legal action. Hopefully this will be resolved sooner rather than later.
And thus this is the right time to make a plea. If you are still going to watch Charlton at the Valley, please help add to the economic pressure on Duchatelet by not purchasing anything other than your ticket from the club. Hospitality, mascot packages, merchandise from the club shop, food and drink etc - starve him of cash flow, increase the economic burden, make it so uncomfortable for him that he'll be desperate to sell. That will help to get rid of the Duchatelet virus from our club.11 -
I believe Delaware North hold the catering contract so I doubt that this would affect RD.0
-
Roland’s main revenue from fans is season tickets, which is why Ive refused to buy one for the last 3 seasons, I know it’s probably hurt me more than it has him if truth be told, I just want rid of him.7

Not a dig, but a"lifetime habit". I saw my first game in 1953 and have been a regular attendee. Not been to a home for 3years (apart for the PC Palmer game against MK Dons) but I do go to some convenient away games.blackpool72 said:

I dont buy the "lifetime habit" line. Sometines we all have to suffer short term pain for long term gain.5 -
A few people have mentioned the idea of some kind of financial support to help the Charlton staff in their fight to get what's owed to them.
Obviously, details are sketchy at this stage. We don't know the structure of the bonus scheme, the detail in the "small print", the numbers of staff affected or the amounts involved. Even when all this is known, we don't know whether the staff concerned will want to pursue a claim at an employment tribunal or any other legal route.
However, @Curb_It and I have now ring-fenced £1000 of the protest fund to be used to help with any initial legal or other related expenses that may be incurred. In the event that additional funds are required, we envisage that a separate support fund will be set up and donations sought.
The question of whether there is a sound basis for a legal challenge remains to be answered. But whatever the answer to this, there can surely be no doubt that Charlton are under a moral obligation to pay these staff what's due. I am sure that many fans, whether boycotting or not, will get behind any action that is proposed to get a successful and just outcome for the Charlton staff.46 -
I'm sure if Delaware North find they are running at a loss, they will soon give Roland earache!
It also would not surprise me if the contract gave RD a % of the profits.0 -
Well done Alan and Brenda. You can count upon my financial support, if it comes to that.Davo55 said:A few people have mentioned the idea of some kind of financial support to help the Charlton staff in their fight to get what's owed to them.
