New Tv series (REMEMBER: No Spoilers)

Where Breaking Bad was as brilliant and classic as Dark Side of the Moon, Better Call Saul is the follow up Wish You Were Here, i.e even better.
Some aspects of American culture or Dramas can be crass, but Better Call Saul is artistry and story telling of the highest order.
What is impressive about both series is that in the main very few characters are obviously 'goodies' or 'baddies'. Anton Checkov would be proud and he was the best playwright since Shakespeare.
Then of course came Samuel Beckett.
I am trying to ration Better Call Saul because I don't want it over too quickly.7 -
looking for new series to watch on netflix, heard Power is decent so might start watching that? Alot of pages on thread so hard to read back at reviews.
Just finished Orange is new black new series, 13 reasons why before, both very good. Still go back to GOT every so often and rewatch.0 -
Power is excellent but I’d say Narcos or El Chapo .johnnybev1987 said:looking for new series to watch on netflix, heard Power is decent so might start watching that? Alot of pages on thread so hard to read back at reviews.

Narcos is magnificent. El Chapo is very good. Enjoy.3

Got 1 episode of Get Shorty to watch and dont want to watch it as dont want it to be over.
Sharp Objects, finished the book and enjoying the programme and how they made it come to life.
Picnic at Hanging Rock finished yesterday. I dont think there was a single episode where i either ended up on here reading or falling asleep or both.
Anyone watching Succession with Brian Cox ? we have recorded it all but not started yet.0 -
I would go as far to say that Narcos is the best thing on Netflix . El Chapo is not quite as good but if you like the genre you will love it.johnnybev1987 said:

Breaking Bad was good, and BCS has its moments but i'm not excited about the new season franklyChrissy\\\'s Army!! said:

I've really enjoyed it just as its so baffling that anyone can take it seriously. The people seem real to me, the guy in the most recent episode who SBC got to bite a fake cock to avoid being beheaded was all over the news saying he was going to sue Sacha now. Apparently the very last episode in the season is just unbelievable.Talal said:
Quite enjoyed it, made me think of facejacker with all the different guises. The morons talking about guns... wow, and can't believe that woman actually gave him some of her pubes!RedPanda said:Did anyone watch the new Sascha Baron Cohen show ('Who is America?') last night? If so, any good? I might watch it on catch-up. Cheers.

Succession is absolutely brilliant. Early days but if it retains the quality of the five episodes I've seen so far it will be have a place in the all time greats.suzisausage said:Got 1 episode of Get Shorty to watch and dont want to watch it as dont want it to be over.

I've just got one episode of Get Shorty to watch as well. I think the cast makes it more than anything else.
Also just about to finish the second season of Goliath which is very watchable.

Ozark is really good.
Before We Die is better!
Anyone know how to watch Handmaid's Tale Series 2? Need from episode 7 onwards and not on All4.0 -
Narcos is superb. Hadn't heard of El Chapo, but if it's like Narcos, I'll definitely take a lookjohnnybev1987 said:

Anyone mentioned The Staircase on Netflix? 15 year documentary following Michael Peterson who was accused of murdering his wife. Compulsive 13-part series with twists and turns.6

Liked Succession too. If you liked the first five episodes you'll love the next five.Jints said:

Got Bodyguard recorded, glad to hear people have enjoyed it. BTW How pathetic was it of Channel 5 to schedule the film "The Bodyguard" right up against it?0

Bodyguard was on bbc 9-10
The BodyGuard was on channel 5 at 101 -
Not sold on The Bodyguard yet. He comes across as a real dick. Surely for this team (Line of Duty) the way it's heading is far too obvious. Expecting and hoping for some major plot twists. Ticked many BBC boxes though.0

Nowadays when so many people record to watch at their own leisure that's "up against it". I noticed it because it was so conspicuous on my TV guide. Almost as if C5 want to pick viewers who are too thick to see what they are selecting.paulie8290 said:

Do you think it's just a coincidence?

Thats 1st sentence contradicts itself, if its been recorded to watch at there own leisure then how can it be up against something else.PragueAddick said:

The 2nd part, is it suspicious or good planning, people watch the TV Programme and it makes them think of the movie, luckily its on channel 5 straight away to watch1 -
Well alright, I think that's a bit generous to C5, but maybe you're right.paulie8290 said:

Personally thought the Bodyguard (series) was a load of old dross.0
-
Not the best start for Bodyguard but think it should get better. Will definitely give it another episode.
Seen a few recommending Power, not enjoying the latest series but would definitely recommend to people, Series 2 and 3 were really good TV imo.0 -
OMG, "Sharp Objects." If this is on in England, watch it. 8 Episodes. A one-off show. No season two. Amy Adams. HBO. The last 10 seconds and closing credits of episode 8 are among the most disturbing and scary things I've ever seen. Jaw on floor.1
