Well, what a pleasant surprise that was. I usually hate last minute goals.

    Especially against those smug *******s.

I bet they're not dancing on the pitch tonight.
Minor pavement dancing outside the station, but that's it

The players realised that thanks to the trains I would be 30 minutes late , so saved the goals for the second half

Last minute defeat and last minute win is better than two draws.

    That is some sharp maths

Fell asleep just after kick-off, woke up just after full time. Cheers Karlan! Glad to see him getting on the scoresheet. Just needs to do that fairly regularly and we'll be very happy

A draw and a win would have been better still!

    Really pleased for Grant.
Now let’s get this takeover done because that front two pairing could be something special. Even more so with some momentum from new owners with a plan and fans flocking back to roar them on. COYR
  • What a shame for the Slop or whatever they are called. Didn't see it but very pleased nonetheless.

Shrewsbury more bottom six than top six this season. Draw would have been a fair result but a win is a win.

  • Overall, I thought we were good value for the win. First half was painful. Second half was much better.

Big credit to Bowyer for making the change at half time.

Just curious. Saop saying pre game that Charlton forum's spent the whole summer being bitter about the play off defeat. Where exactly? Not gonna deny there has been some bitterness on all the fórums over the summer, but I must have missed the bit about Shrewbury. Anyone checked SE7 Valiants?
  • Great result for the players in what was a poor game filled with silly fouls from both sides...

Ultimately the three goals were all that happened during the game

Lapslie started slowly yet is improving all the time and really upped his game after his assist (especially as he seemed to be playing Right Back at times) - Sarr really kept the Shrewsbury attackers in his pocket and on another day would have been my MOTM, same with Pratley... He's just what we need in the middle of the park and we stand a great chance if he can stay fit, another one who'd have gotten MOTM on another day

Karlan Grant though, was very quiet in the opening stages yet then really started to grow into the game... His best only began when we went 1-0 up but his pace really started to scare their Defence and dont remember him being that quick even when he was impressive coming through... the heart and desire to get on the end of that cross though is just what he deserved from today, didnt stop running, didnt stop dropping deep to collect the ball - We owe Crawley a lot of thanks for a player that many said wouldnt make it even at League One level... Of course he may still not manage it, yet seems to have sprung a good partnership with Lyle Taylor

Special mention to Albie Morgan, felt he was thrown in slightly early but his delivery was 10x better than Marshall's and showed some good touches, will be one to watch as the season progresses

I enjoyed that, especially after last seasons end games with that little club

Flat game with neither side Impressing first half.

Bowyer switched formation at HT with the lack lasture Marshall replaced by pocket dynamo Morgan.

We looked much more of a threat with 352 as Aribo was higher up the pitch.

Given we were dominated in the air all day ironic we won with two headers.

Liked Lapsie and Morgan but CARD should have put some growth hormones in those water bottles.

Good to have both strikers score and to see we could fill six bench places.

    Dijksteel back was a bonus.

A good win to build on but we need to improve and to increase the squad.

60 mins of absolute dross...couples with great play for the goal...equaliser too from a great cross....and we'll done as we kept going.
  • First half very poor but we picked up second half and it was a real team effort. Impressed by Pratley and thought Lapslie and Morgan both put a good shift in. Our front two look very promising.

Aribo needs to work on the defensive side of his game - has the potential to be a very good player.

Sarr still worries me - not sure about some of his passing.

Great to win in injury time.

I'm not bitter about losing to them

I just wanted to beat them today for their fan behaviour when they scored in that Second Leg

They're probably more bitter because our 2-0 win at their place (Which they "let us have") was what put an end to their automatic hopes
