Team Of The Tournament - Who Would You Pick?

I tried to pick a squad of 32 based on one player for each team. I didn't quite finish it, but this is the sort of squad I'd like to bring to Charlton if I had unlimited cash (unfortunately, I haven't):

FIRST XI

Kasper SCHMEICHEL (Denmark) - Goalkeeper
Kieran TRIPPIER (England) - Defender
Aleksander KOLAROV (Serbia) - Defender
Sergio RAMOS (Spain) Defender - A rare centre half who spends more time in the opposition half.
Andreas GRANQVIST (Sweden) - Defender
CASEMIRO (Brazil) - Midfielder
Xherdan SHAQIRI (Switzerland) - Midfielder
Denis CHERYCHEV (Russia) - Midfielder
Luca MODRIC (Croatia) - Midfielder - Golden Ball winner, plus if the perjury charges stick he could go in the Bad Boys XI.
Romelu LUKAKU (Belgium) - Forward
Cristiano RONALDO (Portugal) - Forward

SUBS BENCH

Guillermo OCHOA (Mexico) - Goalkeeper
Yerry MINA (Columbia) - Defender
Toni KROOS (Germany) - Midfielder - More on reputation than performance, though the Sweden free kick was sublime.
Diego LAXALT (Uruguay) - Midfielder
Kylian MBAPPE (France) - Forward

SQUAD

JO Hyeonwoo (South Korea) - Goalkeeper- For keeping Germany out.
Jan BENAREK (Poland) - Defender
Milad MOHAMMADI (Iran) - Defender - Mainly for the funny throw-ins.
Mile JEDNIAK (Australia) - Midfielder - Not keen on the Palace association but I need a big beard in the team.
Takashi INUI (Japan) - Midfielder
Christian BOLAÑOS (Costa Rica) - Midfielder - Mainly for the what ifs.
André CARILLO (Peru) Midfielder
Jóhann Berg GUÐMUNDSSON (Iceland) - Midfielder - For old times sake.
Mohamed SALAH (Egypt) - Forward - More on reputation than performance.
Sergio AGUERO (Argentina) - Forward - More on reputation than performance.
Sadio MANE (Senegal) - Forward
Position vacant (Morocco)
Position vacant (Nigeria)
Position vacant (Panama)
Position vacant (Saudi Arabia)
Position vacant (Tunisia)

    Courtois
    Trippier, Varane, Godin, Hernandez
    Pogba, Kante, Modric
    Mbappe, Kane, Hazard

Kane in for his first 4 games before he seems to have got injured.

Honourable mentions for Pickford, Perisic and Coutinho.

Not sure about every position but I'd definitely want to have Hazard, Mbappe, Lucas Hernandez, De Bryune, Trippier (why do I keep seeing 'Tripper' on CL?...), Kante, Courtois/Pickford in my team.

Not sure about Kane as he faded when we needed him most. Trippier and Maguire should be shoe-ins.

    I'm going with Southgate's 3-5-2

    Pickford

    Varane
    Maguire
    Umtiti

    Trippier

    Modric
    Kante
    Hazard

    Hernandez

    Mbappe
    Griezmann

    Bench:

    Pavard
    Courtois
    De Bruyne
    Coutinho
    Perisic
    Ronaldo

    Manager: Deschamps

99% sure he was injured... with some luck we will have a 2nd lethal striker by 2020. Or at least someone thats half competant at this level. When a teams goals pretty much all come from set plays, it doesnt take long to get found out. The love train was pointless in the end... Maguire was the target literally every time.

Stones was as every bit as good as Maguire IMO, but Maguire is getting the plaudits because of expectation/reputation.

Maguire brought the ball out really well also. He went on a couple of rampaging runs, whereas Stones never really did that

Kjaer (along with Schmeichel) was the reason why Denmark made it out of the group stages (and almost beat Croatia). Prior to the tournament, everyone in Denmark expected our performance to rely on how Eriksen played. He didn't impress.
Therefore, I would add Kjaer to the bench.

One could make a case for replacing about 50% of them but I'd be happy with that as a first team to beat Real Madrid in a European Cup final. With that midfield and those wingbacks, Kane would get a hat-trick every game.

True, but I thought overall Stones was the slightly better defender. Regardless, both had very good tournaments and I hope they continue to kick on.

Pickford, Trippier, Godin, Granqvist, Umtiti, Marcelo, Pogba, Rakitic, Coutinho, Perisic, Griezmann, Ronaldo

Would be my overall squad of choice I think

Don't they have a team of technical experts to choose the team?
