As if by magic, Bailey out to Harmer, Lancs 75/8

I can't see Essex winning anything this year, but some decent consolidation will go down a treat

Porter finishes with a Michelle, Lancs 105 all out. Essex need... 105!

No wonder the English Lions didn't pick him....

Quarter final against yorks about the start. Loads of Yorks players missing, and Essex are without the suspended ten doeschate. Cook slots in, and is a very competent one day player

The thought of England's all-time leading Test runscorer as an injury replacement has tickled me rather

:) More a case of lucky timing

    Lost.
Bit of a 9th wicket smack around but well short.

Lot of criticism of the pitch they used.

Just taken my seat for the match against Hampshire with my pa. Should be close, Essex not really got going this year. With Harmer Zampa and Porter (backed up by Bopara, Quinn and Tendo) bowling we stand a chance. Chopra in good batting form.

They should be at least 20 runs fewer, the spinners and Bopara strangled them

Chopra goes cheap with a feather to the keeper.

Keeping the scoreboard ticking, but need these two to stick around. Great atmosphere in the ground
