No more useless than a Michael Gove/Jeremy Hunt, yet the amount of racist comments and death threats she gets online is mind-blowing.5 -
I see him as the biggest liar and hypocrite in politics!!!!!!! There are no shortage of Tories who will tell you so either.Big_Bad_World said:

Are you the thread police?palarsehater said:but this isn't a thread on boris johnson is it?
It would be unusual for a thread to remain on a single subject going by the 47.2m times they go off topic.0 -
The PQ she asked about a non-existing state that I posted above was a classic. These are almost as good.
When she was asked about the recommendations in a report on improving London’s terror preparedness, she could not name one of the recommendations, of which there were 127.
Or listen to her interview here - https://www.standard.co.uk/news/politics/theresa-may-diane-abbotts-police-policy-gaffes-show-chaos-that-would-ensue-under-corbyn-a3528856.html - about the cost of employing more police officers.
And this women could potentially be our Home Secretary? God help us.

Between 2010 and 2013 more Jobs were created in Yorkshire than the whole of France.
Plenty of mining jobs were lost during this period.
Labour Prime Minister Wilson shut 253 Pits,
Tory Prime Minister Thatcher shut 115 Pits.
I have no political axe to grind as I vote for local independent most times who cares about local environment.
Keir Hardie and Nye Bevan were priceless Labour men.
Corbyn and Abbott are two Bob.

I don't think racism is anywhere near as nice as being horrible. It's repugnant in all its forms and anyone and everyone should be allowed to be more than surprised if they are the victims of it, and that's regardless of any vile views they hold themselves (something that I and @Leuth may disagree on?).JoshrewCAFC said:

I was answering the question as to how Boris was elected to be Mayor of London, twice, when Abbott failed to even represent her party, suggesting that maybe he isn't seen as so much of a liar and hypocrite by Londoners, that ain't to say he ain't though.
I'm not quite sure why people think that one has to be one or the other0 -
Nope.palarsehater said:but this isn't a thread on boris johnson is it?
There is even a tory-bashing thread for that but by slating him and the tories on here it is somehow vindicating Abbott's past actions.
Notice how none of the lefties have responded to Len's post- soon this will deteriorate into a thread about racism and that will be that.

Also my use of the word horrible doesn't define how strongly I think racism is awful, disgusting, abhorrent, etc. Again trying to suggest my stance on the issue from something I haven't actually said.0 -
One of the main problems is getting an agreement on what racism means. If everyone had the same definition then I'm assuming there would be less argument.Big_Bad_World said:

Racism, prejudice or whatever you want to call it between races is never a good thing.2 -
OK, first off, I'm no fan of her; I think she's a massive hypocrite on loads of levels. But I do wonder why she, of all politicians, gets singled out. (Well I don't, it's obvious).
When there was the scandal at the last election about the amount of hate-mail, online and through the post, that candidates got because some nasty left wingers had targeted some Tories; the subsequent investigation found that 45% of all abusive tweets to female MPs went to Diane Abbot. Let that sink in - she alone got more abuse than all the Tories and nearly all the other Labour/SNP/LibDems put together.
She's clearly motivated by principle, even if she fails to live up to them at times, she gets held to a far higher standard than any male or white politician. I wonder why. (Again, I don't really).
She's actually been right about Windrush. And somehow she's the problem, not Rudd, or May, or the people who wanted us to be an intolerant country.
And as for her being a racist - of course black people can be racist, but there's a difference between being prejudiced and being in a position to act on those prejudices. People making racist comments online or in an interview is not nice, but is a degree of difference from a government going out of their way to deny a group of people who happen to be mainly black their rights. She may well be in a position to do that in the future, but at the moment it's quite clear who is in a position to act on their prejudices and it isn't her.
