I think think Amir genuinely wanted to eat them and not staged. Maybe encouraged off screen once they started talking about it though.
Amir is out of order for letting them think it was all Iain’s idea.

Yes, he can be an annoying prick and I think he says a lot of things to wind others up but it seems like the other guys are deliberately pushing things now almost to the point of bullying.
Made worse by almost instantly after an altercation with Iain they get together and bitch about him amongst themselves.3
