Palace planning new stadium

Why do they want a new ground? The one they have suits them so well.2
-
I'd be surprised if Palace move to a new ground, they'll probably just rebuild Selhurst. They can build a main stand behind the existing structure, and by the time they get round to the sh*thole on the other side, will have been relegated and promoted half a dozen times!

We can laugh and build castle in the air objections but the fact of the matter is that this is very bad news. Any progression by that shitstain club is not welcome.

Stadiums are expensive things to build these days. Just imagine the debt and the impact of servicing it will have if they lose the PL moneyShootersHillGuru said:We can laugh and build castle in the air objections but the fact of the matter is that this is very bad news. They can't expand the Arthur Wait due to the houses behind it, nor can they do anything with the Whitehorse Lane End because of Sainsbury's.
So they can only extend the main stand and the Holmesdale (even then that has houses behind it, so not much can be done with that), or move.1 -
They tend to favour administration as their modus operandi so they can welch on all their debts - I would expect them to do the same. They are a true shit stain on humanity.letthegoodtimesroll said:

Will always remember when Millwall announced their plans to build on Senegal Fields. At the time they were high in the top division, had floated on the stock exchange and things were looking rosy.
All the locals in my pub in deptford had bought shares and were looking forward to a brand new stadium.
Relegation swiftly followed, the shares weren’t worth a light and the stadium is a shit hole.
I wish all the above on Palace.32 -
I wish for far worse than that for the stripey c*nts - Millwall are still in existence.alan dugdale said:Will always remember when Millwall announced their plans to build on Senegal Fields. Meanwhile we've got some nice trenches being dug at the training ground.
Just sell the club11 -
I've still got an artist's impression of a 40k valley.
That will probably never happen in my lifetime now.
Let's just hope the pricks go down they will not go ahead with this if they get relegated.3 - Sponsored links:

They're rather hyping it, but all they are really doing is building a new (and stylish I'd admit) main stand. The Arthur Wait with minor improvements will still be a dump7
-
Whilst I admire what they're trying to do and indeed their plans to do it, why do they have to make everything so cringey??
The music and graphics in that video are toe curling. Surely they can find a better producer of such material, their owner is a top advertising executive FFS!!5 -
Genuinely doesn't look that impressive, so they're basically building a new main stand and getting rid of the gantry?0

So for an extra 8,000 fans in the stadium to bring the capacity up to a level needed for a good Championship club or a treading water PL club it’s going to cost £100 million. That’s £12,500 per seat.7
-
Nice and pretty main stand, still with the little Whitehorse Lane and Arthur Wait stands.
It's a bit like Valley Parade, Oakwell or Home Park. Nice shiny new stands, with one old withered stand.0 -
2000 of which are premium seats plus the new boxes.letthegoodtimesroll said:So for an extra 8,000 fans in the stadium to bring the capacity up to a level needed for a good Championship club or a treading water PL club it’s going to cost £100 million. That’s £12,500 per seat.
If they charge £2k for the premium seats won't take long to cover the costs.
The rest will take a lot longer but clearly they are thinking long term.
Meanwhile we've got some nice training pitches and some trenches, the whole training ground was meant to be finished one year ago but we've not put a single foundation down or put one brick on another.
Shows what ambition looks like (or in or case doesn't look like)
Just sell the club.10 -
It says planning application submitted January 2018, surely they men will be submitted.
Also building to start late 2018, so they're sure of getting permission then? Brown paper bags to planning officer?2 -
Also says a glass frontage reminiscent of the old Crystal Palace, we all know what happened to that one.10
-
Just been doing some research on it.
They're pulling down the TV gantry from the Arthur Wait, with a new media suite going in the new main stand.
So as nice as the new main stand will be, it won't be on show to anyone watching on TV, but rather the crappy old Arthur Wait and all the houses behind it!8 - Sponsored links:

We could also combine our trophy cabinets.killerandflash said:
And combine the "Charlton Athletic" from our name with "Football Club" from theirs...Addickted said:
Excellent idea.Uboat said:The sensible way forward is just to merge with them. They seem like a good bunch of lads.
We could keep the red from their kit with the white from our kit for the new strip.
Our FA Cup would look great next to their Runners Up medals.1 -

It's a fucking shame they won't need it in the championshipblackpool72 said:I've still got an artist's impression of a 40k valley.

Where is the space for the outside bit looking onto the glass palace?0

Uncle Woys gana keep em up. They will scrape enough points to just manage.
So depressing....considering they lost their 1st 7/8 and without scoring...any other team you would think dead cert to go down.
They are in a relegation battle every year and always end up staying in the prem.
F*ck you Kevin Phillips. Don't know the damage you've done just by scoring that penalty.5 -
If they are commencing building this time next year, at least Keohane is in with a chance for the project managers role.
I mean his CV is impressive..... Accomplished at setting up and leading working teams to deliver intricate projects, which include contract openings, mobilisation of new business, property acquisition, planning application and construction programs, organisational development & structural change, new software & system integrations and building refurbishment7 -
Great they’ve started prepping for the championship already.1

The new stand will incorporate the famous Crystal Palace eagle, which has been their badge for a whole 30 years. Such fantastic history.11
