What would you do...

If this was left on your car.

This is public street parking near my work.

Would you:

A - Find an alternative parking spot although could be a much further walk away

B - Ignore it and park there

C - Take the bus and add about 6 hours onto your day

D - Any alternative suggestion

I'd presume that your fully entitled to ignore it unless they have approval from the Council to put out "no parking" cones out maybe?

I had something similar when I used to park down the same road in Gravesend for work and got a letter on my car one day asking me to go somewhere else for 24-hrs because there happened to be a funeral going on the next day... Was happy to do because of the circumstances yet without yellow lines / permit signs etc. this company cant really tell you to push off surely?

I'd got with Option.B as your allowed to ignore it but Option.A if you want to be considerate

And if you want to be awkward; park there and put a sign on your car saying: "Please dont litter my vehicle"

    B all day long

  • I'd be inclined for B as well, but if you do that, you know it is going to be some kind of charity event/good cause and you'll block it off from happening. Someone takes a picture of what a miserable kill joy you are, tweets it, goes viral and @arthur ends up putting it on the twitter thread.

    You have been warned.

    B
  • Bombard their twitter account about it
  • Shame they couldnt provide a better reason other than wanting to brown nose their Client with easy access.

Strange as well for the "event" to be starting @ 6am...

    According to their twitter it's:

The Sophos Next-Generation Now Tour will be touching down at ADM Computing on 19th September and we hope that you’ll join us for what promises to be an insightful and fun day.

I'd be inclined to get any friends or family to park down there tomorrow for the day. Touching down at ADM indeed

If it's the ADM in Canterbury, here are their contact details: sales@adm-computing.co.uk, 01227 473500.

I'd drop them a line and ask them to confirm if this will be enforced or is just a request.
  • Looks quite a fun day... https://t.co/SBZj6IFAUU

Free lunch and free Sophos swag: whatever the hell free swag is!!

Not a charity event, so I'd park in your usual spot. Get there nice and early and put up a sign saying "Patrons of ADM Computing are strictly forbidden from using these parking spaces. Illegally parked cars will be towed away and their owners knee-capped."

So why don't they offer free swag or some other consideration for parking elsewhere. Tight gits.

I wonder whether you're actually in public parking if you're receiving those notes.

There's a virtual reality fight experience as well. If we could get one of those on here, it would save traipsing over to Macro's carpark, to settle disputes.
  • Yes this is the one in Canterbury. I don't do twitter otherwise I might have asked about it there. I just thought it was abit of a cheek, parking around there is shocking at the best of times and if I don't park there someone else will anyway. I'll be there by 5am anyway so no chance I'm losing my spot!

    A and D

Turn up at the event completely hammered at about 4pm and pretend you're the Head of Marketing for ADM Computing. Proceed to make an absolute arse of yourself, telling ill-advised mother-in-law jokes to all of the clients in attendance. Ask loudly if any of them want to see your private parts.

Dress as a parking warden to get back at Linda. Wear a road cone on your head for added effect. Place fake parking tickets on all of the client's cars. Fit clamps to each vehicle whilst singing the Cars hit 'Drive' at the top of your voice. Focus on the line 'Who's gonna drive you home....tonight.'

Return to the event reciting Shakespeare at the top of your voice in the style of Brian Blessed.

When you're being man handled away by security, proclaim loudly your love for Linda and that you'll be waiting for her on the outside.
  • Definitely street parking there Dazzler. Nearly every other road around there is 4 hour restricted.
  • Which street is this on? I'm going to drive there and park my car at 5am!!

Park where you like. But put a handwritten note inside your windscreen:

    "Here for the ADM event".

The actual message is quite polite.

The large 'No Parking' clip art is a bit too demanding.

Inconvenient I know mate but at least you didn't get two 'go faster' (key) stripes down the side resulting in a more costly re-spray  .
