    Norway has a population about half that of London and don't have players paid stupid money every week for being average. They have justified reasons for being crap at times..

    Indeed i share people's frustration and disappointment at England's record in major tournaments but once again it looks like we're gonna qualify relatively comfortably, i'm not sure what people expect from qualifying.

    You can only beat what is in front of you - that is fine if we can beat what is in front of us in the finals! The problemis we can't beat half decent teams!

    Maybe that's because we are ranked 13th in the world but it's only 11v11 and if you can get to the knock out stages then there's always a chance................POSITIVITY.

    How many kicks in the teeth do England fans need before they get the fact that we won't set the world alight in Russia. As was pointed out earlier by another poster, building the team around the weakest aspect of the team is rubbish! Deja Vu!

    Worked on the laptop all through the game, but every time I looked up when it sounded like we were attacking, every single time the player took the selfish option of trying to shoot instead of passing.

    We haven't set the world alight since 1966 and I saw all of the preliminary games, quarter and semi final at Wembley. Since then It's the hope that kills you but I can dream cant I ?

    The current England team work hard, give 100%, have plenty of pace, but just lack that touch of class in midfield which separates the decent teams from the top ones.

    That's a bit unfair.
    We were great in 1970, just that Alf blundered tactically against the Germans by taking off Bobby Charlton with 20 mins remaining.
    We probably should have qualified for'74.
    And we didn't do too bad in Italia '90

    Fair enough but It wasn't just the Booby Charlton substitution and I'm not blaming Bonetti but I would have rather have had Banks in between the sticks who was injured IIRC.
