Is it true that teams get fined for not playing their strongest teams? After all the likes of Arsenal have used this competition to play their kids for years

Don't think so. I think it's the farcical Check-Your-Pulse Trophy that requires you to play a minimum of 6 players who started the previous league game (was certainly something like that). I remember Gary Megson in charge of Sheffield Wednesday used all three substitutions to remove first teamers from the field after 15 minutes a few years ago.

i do think its a bit disrespectful to the comp, as the top managers and quite rightly so get slaughtered for doing it, of course its good when a upset happens, but if karl's doing it i suppose we have to show faith in it, come saturday when weve been dicked 4-0 by plymouth and out the comp then i may think differently.

Only 2 starters from Saturday travelled down. He specifically mentioned Watt, Sarr, Konsa, Crofts, KAG, Jackson, Reeves

It will be that team but Jackson instead of Barnes. Also Aribo to play alongside Crofts, Charles- Cook on the right side of midfield and Reeves in the number 10 roll. I want Charlton to win every game but I would take a loss to get a win on Saturday.

As flushed as I am from Saturdays performance, I fully expect Charlton to be in full cup mode tonight.

We will probably lose, with a couple of injury's that will no doubt affect our season in the longer run.

We will probably lose, but its a chance to play some fringe players and its a tinpot cup - who cares.

Is this game tonight in what was the league cup or the latest incarnation of the Johnstone's Paint?

When things keep happening, you don't need a crystal ball anymore :) Seriously, I am happy with the approach, the league has to be our priority this season.

Bauer is travelling and with only 2 senior goalkeepers, the other must be Amos

Narrow win for Charlton with it being a very good run out for the young guys! Thinking 0-1 or 1-2.

Jacko will get mullered at left back. If you are going to play him, I would have him holding in midfield alongside Crofts. Have the two youth boys at full back
