I'm watching! England were going along like a dream and then a horrible strangle down the legside, since that it turned into a bit of a struggle. Weirdly passive innings from Gunn as well. Final pressure on India though, no matter how well they've restricted England

Well done! That was brilliant. Bet she is relived after that drop. What a performance by England and shrubsole.

first woman's game I've seen ... terrific standard and a very exciting game .. Shrubsole should be drafted into the men's team for the Oval ((:>)

That was amazing, complete choke from India, but that was a great final.
  • Wow! Amazing finish. India were coasting at 191-3 chasing 229 to win & then they lost their last 7 wickets for 28 runs. Great bowling from Anya Shrubsole.

I turned over to the golf when India were 3 down and cruising.
I turn back and England have won.
    Unbelievable Geoff

The board isn't for ODIs anyway

I think it's for Test Matches only.

Claire Taylor was once named a Wisden cricketer of the year, which was very fair considering the women's team had won the ashes and the men hadn't. I'd expect similar this year

The excitement was brilliant and I was running round like a lunatic celebrating each wicket with my sons but I thought the standard wasn't all that , great effort and determination though

David Willey hit 118 off 55 balls in the T20. Incredible stuff. This was batting 3 for Yorkshire.

I have never understood with England insist on batting him below pretty much all the other bowlers. In T20 at least he should be considered a genuine allrounder. I've always been a big fan of his. Ever since he was bumped up the batting order due to injury in a T20 final against Surrey amd destroyed us.
  • I think that if he bowled another 7-8MPH quicker, then he would be a very useful cricketer.

Unfortunately in the shorter formats, he bowls at that 'Hoggie' pace of around 78-82mph, which at that level tends to be very hittable.

That is unless you look at someone like Jimmy Faulkner (the Aussie), who is about the same pace, but has a real variety in his bowling.

White ball cricket had moved on a lot in the last few years, it would be interesting to see how someone like McGrath would cope now, when batsmen see length balls as being hittable

To a certain extent you're right if the ball doesn't swing he is very hitable. When it swings he is very good though. And his batting is definitely underrated.

When the ball is swinging, Willey should play in both limited overs matches IMO. Gives us good lower order batting aswell, would have him at 8 in T20 and 9 in one dayers.

I see where you're coming from but players still wouldn't get McGrath away, the man could bowl it on a 5p piece
