It seems that KR and his signings are much like RD and his managers thus far - taken from a very select pool of people that they have normally worked with before. There is a lot to be said for working with people you trust but in the world of sport it makes you somewhat predictable.
Let's hope our signings aren't all MK Dons rejects (or network numpties)3 -
Yeah I get it to a certain degree, for example Reeves looks a very tidy player, Martin is available on a free. But we seem to be linked with half their team which finished in mid table. Powell never struck me as anything special. Darren Potter is definitely good at this level, but in JJ and Crofts we already have two central midfielders 32+. Admittedly these are just rumors, so we shouldn't put too much weight into it, but right now it all feels a bit scattergun.moutuakilla said:It seems the KR and his signings are much like RD and his managers thus far - taken from a very select pool of people that they have normally worked with before. Whilst I've got no faith in the regime to manage signings, or KR to manage the team with any degree of skill or integrity, some of these MK rumours smacks of lazy journalism and agents playing silly buggers. It's just all a bit to easy to link a player to their former manager at a crisis club that likes cheap players.
We'll probably sign one or two (my guess is Martin and Reeves) but that's not necessarily unreasonable given the predicted turnover (yet again) and what we will "need".11 -
Sad fact is team's with serious promotion ambitions are gonna shop at Waitrose and we'll be shopping at Aldi.0

Wish that was the case as Aldi actually do some decent stuff. Iceland on the other hand....Horsfield9 said:Sad fact is team's with serious promotion ambitions are gonna shop at Waitrose and we'll be shopping at Aldi.

We won't even be shopping - just rooting around in the bins behind the store.Horsfield9 said:Sad fact is team's with serious promotion ambitions are gonna shop at Waitrose and we'll be shopping at Aldi.

I'd have Wilson back in heartbeat. As well as Hamer and Morrison and Wiggins and Hollands and Wagstaff and Yann and BWP and you get my point.

always liked Daniel Powell from our league 1 winning season. He was class at The Valley. He played as the right hand forward in a front 3 if I remember correctly. Would be a great signing.2

Got to say there are a lot of targets drawn up by Karl Robinson. So doesn't mean that it is definitely going to happen.1 -
But we have 6 (SIX!) strikers already and a threadbare midfield. Surely Ajose, Igor, Novak and/or Watt must be moved on first.Henry Irving said:https://www.londonnewsonline.co.uk/23852/charlton-interested-rochdale-hotshot/

Why move them on first? Novak is fine as a backup striker in this league, Magennis will be first choice, and we've already shown we're totally fine with loaning out players, I'm sure Watt, Ajose and Vetokele will find new homes, though we'll keep one of them IMOSpicedAddick said:

With KR wanting to play one up top I can see him keeping Magennis and Novak. Bringing it 1 more who can play as a lonely striker and keeping KAG incase he wants to go 2 up top late in the game.SpicedAddick said:

Probably but that doesn't mean you don't start working on a deal. Doesn't mean we're not prioritising midfield signings either.SpicedAddick said:

It's a juggling act as at every club to move on the players you don't want and get the ones you do. I'm sure they will be trying to shift the expensive players from last season and the year before and the year before that but it's early days yet.0 -
“I’m going to see out my playing career here because I love the place so much. I love the North West and there are so many factors determining my stay here – the football, the management staff, the player and the fans. I also want to settle in the North West so I’m extremely happy.”

Henderson's ok, not a player that's going to get us promoted. Probably on about 2k a week, hopefully not a sign of things to come.1
