13 years of douchy boy will do that to ya.Big in Brasov said:Since the weekend I've read numerous misconceptions posted about the lack of passion displayed by our friends in Sint-Truiden.
I can assure you that's not how it used to be, before Duchatelet the bought the club. If interested, the OP on this thread, might help explain.
(if im correct RD has had involvement in that club for 13 years)0 -
Yes, it is 13 years

This is CAS Trust's report on the astonishing lack of passion at Stayen Stadium last weekend.

I really don't know how vociferous past remonstrations against Duchatelet have been, I only know that groups of STVV fans have stood up to him, to be dismissed with the all-too familiar accusations of hot-heads, ex-employees (yes, really) and vinegar-pissers.andynelson said:Big in Brasov said:Yes, it is 13 years

Most of those who really care, now consider any action against Duchatelet to be futile, and after 13 years they've given up; they've turned their backs on their club, perhaps never to return. Others only attend away games, whilst a small contingent are doing whatever they can to take the fight to Duchatelet once more.
There are also those who believe Duchatelet has saved the club, has provided them with nice new facilities and cannot understand why others should be critical of him, and there are those who worry about how the club would survive without Duchatelet's wealth.
Last Saturday, among those STVV fans that marched alongside CAFC fans, were a few of their "Ultras", - those most vocal young people from behind the north goal. Most, if not all, are of an age whereby they have no understanding of what football at Staaien was like before Duchatelet. However, they do understand that a football club needs to embrace the competition and nurture aspirations of sporting success, and so it was encouraging to see them involved.

He didn't want to dance last Saturday night. I wonder why?eaststandmike said:I will give RD his due he does seem to like a dance

Out of interest, are the bars etc open other than for home matches, and if so, do many people use the stadium facilities at other times?

The restaurant seems busy at times other than home games.
I do not know about the Revue, I have heard it is available for hire for e.g. Conferences and weddings but I have no information about how often it is hired for these things.0 -
I believe its only open for home games ,and as Neil states, special functions.
Its a smart place tbh.0 - Sponsored links:

john, is the camera from the West Stand?0

Sad watching that video - just shows what Duchatelet has destroyed.4

Yes, from the west0

I received this on my facebook feed today and was horrified when I read it. How on earth can anyone think that this is what football should be like. These are the kinds of things that more supporters need to know about, because this is where Duchatelet wants to take us.castrust said:This is CAS Trust's report on the astonishing lack of passion at Stayen Stadium last weekend.

So, it's not as if STVV have surrendered a chunk of their "matchday experience" to be replaced by a thriving, full-on venue for the whole community - the place has just been lobotomised. To coin a phrase - 13 years of Roly misrule.

Lobotomised I think is a good analogy0

I was going to like this and then felt it was totally inappropriate. Cnut.0

Just read Richard Wiseman's Supporters' Trust article -depressing vision of the possible future.2
-
Last season on completion of the regular league season, STVV finished in 7th position, with an average attendance of 9,877. This season they've finished 11th with an average of 6,840, - a fall of 3,037 or 31% in just 12 months.
As alarming as these numbers are, I don't suppose Duchatelet gives a flying feck0 - Sponsored links:

Won a friendly 6-1 tonight.
RD is the future.2 -
As long as he gets to shake a few hands and act the big benefactor in the Revue bar after a home game, and have a dance, i dont think he gives a flying about anything else.Big in Brasov said:Last season on completion of the regular league season, STVV finished in 7th position, with an average attendance of 9,877. And because he enjoys that so much, he thinks it's a model he can extend out.
Unfortunately he is wrong headed, his. Idiom is flawed, and every club which has him as an owner should seek to rise up against him or suffer.5 -
You would have thought that the numbers would have increased judging by the number of Addicks now attending almost every other game !Big in Brasov said:Last season on completion of the regular league season, STVV finished in 7th position, with an average attendance of 9,877. They are quite shocking numbers though - seemingly echoed through all of his network - clubs with huge heritage like Charlton, Sint Truiden and Ujpest just destroyed by a despot lunatic .1

I reckon you're right there, but that's what I find so odd about his ownership of Charlton: He's never even turned up let alone danced.Alwaysneil said:

While we were in ST two weeks ago, RD was hosting an official visit from the Supervisory Council of FC Carl Zeiss Jena. RD knew well in advance that we would be there, so how come he didn't re-arrange FCC's trip ? Not even slightly embarrassed, or really just doesn't give a hoot, for us, STVV or FCC ?2 -
Mad grandiose megalomaniac behaviour......that's why I call him Goldfinger.0

We know, we met them in th De Kanarie the night before - very enlightening they were too.GlassHalfFull said:

Supposedly, the CZJ representatives brought up in discussion with him the question of 'why are Charlton fans protesting in your home town?' - we didnt get verification that this happened.1
