I really don't know how vociferous past remonstrations against Duchatelet have been, I only know that groups of STVV fans have stood up to him, to be dismissed with the all-too familiar accusations of hot-heads, ex-employees (yes, really) and vinegar-pissers.
Most of those who really care, now consider any action against Duchatelet to be futile, and after 13 years they've given up; they've turned their backs on their club, perhaps never to return. Others only attend away games, whilst a small contingent are doing whatever they can to take the fight to Duchatelet once more.
There are also those who believe Duchatelet has saved the club, has provided them with nice new facilities and cannot understand why others should be critical of him, and there are those who worry about how the club would survive without Duchatelet's wealth.
Last Saturday, among those STVV fans that marched alongside CAFC fans, were a few of their "Ultras", - those most vocal young people from behind the north goal. Most, if not all, are of an age whereby they have no understanding of what football at Staaien was like before Duchatelet. However, they do understand that a football club needs to embrace the competition and nurture aspirations of sporting success, and so it was encouraging to see them involved.
The restaurant seems busy at times other than home games.
I do not know about the Revue, I have heard it is available for hire for e.g. Conferences and weddings but I have no information about how often it is hired for these things.
I received this on my facebook feed today and was horrified when I read it. How on earth can anyone think that this is what football should be like. These are the kinds of things that more supporters need to know about, because this is where Duchatelet wants to take us.
So, it's not as if STVV have surrendered a chunk of their "matchday experience" to be replaced by a thriving, full-on venue for the whole community - the place has just been lobotomised. To coin a phrase - 13 years of Roly misrule.
Last season on completion of the regular league season, STVV finished in 7th position, with an average attendance of 9,877. This season they've finished 11th with an average of 6,840, - a fall of 3,037 or 31% in just 12 months.
As alarming as these numbers are, I don't suppose Duchatelet gives a flying feck

As long as he gets to shake a few hands and act the big benefactor in the Revue bar after a home game, and have a dance, i dont think he gives a flying about anything else.
And because he enjoys that so much, he thinks it's a model he can extend out.
Unfortunately he is wrong headed, his. Idiom is flawed, and every club which has him as an owner should seek to rise up against him or suffer.

You would have thought that the numbers would have increased judging by the number of Addicks now attending almost every other game !
They are quite shocking numbers though - seemingly echoed through all of his network - clubs with huge heritage like Charlton, Sint Truiden and Ujpest just destroyed by a despot lunatic .

I reckon you're right there, but that's what I find so odd about his ownership of Charlton: He's never even turned up let alone danced.

While we were in ST two weeks ago, RD was hosting an official visit from the Supervisory Council of FC Carl Zeiss Jena. RD knew well in advance that we would be there, so how come he didn't re-arrange FCC's trip ? Not even slightly embarrassed, or really just doesn't give a hoot, for us, STVV or FCC ?

We know, we met them in th De Kanarie the night before - very enlightening they were too.
Supposedly, the CZJ representatives brought up in discussion with him the question of 'why are Charlton fans protesting in your home town?' - we didnt get verification that this happened.

(if im correct RD has had involvement in that club for 13 years)

Out of interest, are the bars etc open other than for home matches, and if so, do many people use the stadium facilities at other times?
