I'm sorry but I don't see the issue here. Do people really want to socialise with the crap players at our club? Aside from solly or Jackson, I could care less about anyone else.
Daisy wants to run it. Let her run it.
Fanny should tell em to stick it and set up a seperate event. Get some of the old boys down. Powell, brown, robinson etc. Beer, a few nibbles and a lot of laughs to get over another crap season. Sorted.16 -

I suppose that having it after the last game means getting all the loanees to go. They won't be very interested in the spirit of the occasion anyway. KM is getting all the flak here but I smell a rat behind it all. Just a hunch.0

Under the current f'wit regime, Charlton Athletic is being progressively stripped of all the elements that made it proper Charlton.
The POTY this season cannot be the celebration that it would have been under a Curbishley or Powell, or any other vaguely competent footballing leadership, but a fan run event is a tangible link with what makes our club special.
Most of the "professionals" brought in by the regime won't give a toss if it doesn't happen, but I think it's important, for our Academy graduates if no one else, to keep alive the links between the players and fans.
Losing the POTY is not, in isolation, a disaster, but what it represents is is the further destruction of our (not the Belgian Shareholder's) club, and is a step further along the road to a time where, unless the regime can be encouraged to leave, establishing a new Charlton may be the only option.8 -

Notes from the Fans Forum says "KM noted that the suggestion of an afternoon event was up for discussion and at this stage is just a proposal, and the club’s preference to attract more children to the event."
It would appear to be more lies from KM, nothing changes.

The proposals as far as I can tell have not been thought up by any supporter group and are entirely the idea of somebody at the club it seems.
I won't dismiss everything on principle because they come from the underlings of Roland Duchatelet and Katrien Meire.
However, the regime aren't sitting at number one in the popularity stakes currently, neither were they last year, so they'd be best off forgetting it until they turn things around (which could well be unlikely, but who knows). IMO obviously.

What utter bollocks from Meire and Co, another example of how they have no understanding of the history and traditions of OUR club.
If anything, as the natural successor to CASC, the Trust should now run this event on behalf of the fans given that, sorry to Fanny and Killerjerrylee, the fans forum is totally ineffective now.
ITS A FAN LEAD EVENT KATRIEN, IT ALWAYS HAS BEEN!
Oh and giving out a trophy to the women's team poty is nothing new.

I only met Fanny for the first time on Saturday and needless to say, really enjoyed her company in Belgium. It was also clear the affection felt for her by fellow travellers. I can only endorse the esteem in which she is held!2 -

Not surprised at this at all. Meire is an arrogant, attention-seeking woman who has spectacularly f****d up in every way at the club in her three years here. The only things that still work or that are successful is the stuff she hasn't stuck her beek into. She knows this, she knows she's a failure. Piggybacking on others goodwill and success to try and pass it off as her own is just what I'd expect from her.2
