There is so much at stake by getting relegated from the money train commercially it is understandable if they feel a new bloke can come in and keep them up and on the gravy train. Shame for Ranieri but he will get a huge pay day and go down in Leceister (and possibly English football) folklore.
Sad state of affairs but the game will continue to shed its soul for a pound note until there is a major reset.10 -
Powell should've waited...8

He'd have done well up thereCallumcafc said:Powell should've waited...

Players have not been playing for him for some time, and they look to be on a collision course with relegation.
I hate that the way modern football is structured means there is no room for sentimentality anymore, but relegation is too costly and players are too powerful - in the circumstances, I'm surprised he hasn't been sacked sooner, but it absolutely shouldn't be this way.
Every day, I fall out of love with the game a little bit more.31 - Sponsored links:

Winning the league has given them the illusion they are way above the quality of a side battling relegation. On paper they are a mid table side at best.5

Well and truly sums up today's football . Disgusting really. Total disrespect to a man who achieved the unthinkable . What a disgrace3

Trouble is, football isn't a sport anymore. It's business.9

What a joke. Absolute disgrace!2

Ridiculous decision. However, if it means the new manager syndrome means they pull away from Palace, I won't complain.2

Totally unbelievable.
Having won the premier league he should have at least been given the chance to finish this season ffs2 -
When he got the unwavering support of the owner earlier this month I knew he was toast
Sad day though for football I think.0 -
I hate modern football3

I'd say it's utterly predictable and eminently believable. Sad but predictable.0

Heard that he'd had a few big stand up rows with a couple of the stalwarts in the dressing room.0

I can't say I'm surprised, a manager can't live by last season's results.
A damn shame, but I can't blame Leicester tbh.0 -
Incredible. I really didn't expect that.
Plus they were obviously going to win the champions league.3 -
He's a 1-0 win away from the Champions League quarter finals!1

And Katrien Meire is still in a job. What a time to be alive.16

Yes and 1 point from the relegation zone and it's more likely they'll get relegated than win The Champions League.JiMMy 85 said:He's a 1-0 win away from the Champions League quarter finals!

Very cruel business, but the right decision long term for Leicester imo.0
