  • Was Slade on a 3yr appointment?? Karl get 2.5, does the next guy in 6 months time get 2yrs??
  • Came 5th five times in a row.

Just thinking of managers that won the league during that time...

Wasn't there that guy that romped the league with no money and got the record points score?

No money but signed Stevens and green for money?
  • Welcome Karl, hope you do well for us. No disrespect to you but I won't be getting too attached.....

''Mmmm the guy who signed Danny Green & Simon Church for MK Dons''.

To be fair to Chris Powell who previously signed these two.
Danny Green was decent in our promotion season
and Simon Church was signed when were potless.
Either him or no one! Not an easy decision to make!
  • Expect this announcement later today.....

" Karl Robinson will be the guest of East Kent Addicks, alongside our beloved CEO, Katrien Meire on Tuesday 29th November...."

  • Could this be 8th time lucky for Roly and Ms Nightmeire or will the penny finally drop that we do badly whoever the coach is because the coach is not be the key incompetent moron in the club set up?

  • @ElfsborgAddick £50 please.

I'll bung you next time I'm at The Valley.

    "Following a thorough appointment process"

Russel Slade sacked on the 14th of November
Karl Robinson hired on the 24th of November

Come on, it's good that we've made a quick appointment, as long as the appointee looks decent & Robinson does.
As I've said before we were never going to get the likes of Allardyce, so yes there are no guarantees.
Robinson may be a great success, no one knows, but he's not network, so I can't complain.

I thought we should have kept Gritt not Curbs and thought Pardew was a great appointment. So no one knows with any certainty.

Best of luck to Robinson, he has my full backing. What's the alterrnative, appoint no one ?

Just so I can inform my betting profile, do you think Karl is a good appointment? I'll be betting against your opinion based on your previous ;)

2 1/2 year deal?! More than likely a 2 1/2 month deal. I wish him luck having to deal with such an idiotic regime. One defeat and he'll be sweating on his job.
  • Just the next appointment until they try to employ Jackson as Manager.

Has he got a work permit?

Welcome Karl, I hope you are a successful manager just as I have with all previous managers.

100% support from me on this. Good luck Karl. Let's hope you can do your job and get the results we'll need in spite of all the off field unrest going on at the moment.

Ermm, don't you mean inspite of the off field interference & mismanagement of the club by the SMT / owner ? The unrest is response to not the cause of the problems at the club or on the field.

I don't like Karl. Over-rated, showed no class at all when Wolves winger Michal Zyro was hacked to pieces off the ball by his defender - didn't even get an apology.

We probably should have gone for his double - Darren Farley off the Coral ads.

As an opposition manager that's not good. But if he's our manager I have no problem, if he's not all nicey nicey with the opposition.
Charlton have always been too nice. It'll be good to show a bit of steel. We might even show some bottle at Millwall.

Personally I think he is about as good a manager that we could get considering we are a league one club.
I just hope he is allowed to manage without miere interfering.
Shall give him my full support.
Good luck Karl you're gonna need it
  • Was speaking to someone yesterday who used to play in the same non league team as him.

He said he was a typical confident scouser who could blag his way into anything. So it could be interesting times ahead if he stands his ground with his bosses!!. That seems a long way from Slater who always seemed to be nervous / shifty when being interviewed.

    Good luck Karl.
  • Great appointment, think we'll start doing well now. Strengthen the midfield in January and play offs will be possible

He likes to play attractive football? Remember that absolutely awful 0-0 draw last season against our relegation peers in MK Dons at The Valley?

Good appointment if we weren't run by a madman: www.votvonline.com
  • If Robinson wears a shirt with No 7 on his back he will be an instant hit with the fans.

John Robinson wore 11, if that's what your alluding to

I seem to remember 18 as well...though it could be a false memory.
