I don't but it made a good atmos.
  • Shame the fans couldn't chant it at the same pace as he was playing it. His hype man was a bit odd.

I think he may have been in the pub before hand as well. Elfsborg probably invited him to get a free beer.

I'd hazard a guess and say there's likely to be some in the SPL ;-)

He was a local, and English bloke that plays the pipes in Bury town centre, he was playing in the square around 1 and when a few Addicks cheered Valley Floyd Road, with the promise of beer was enticed to follow onto the Rose & Crown, a good pub serving Wainwright's and tasted better as @RickyOtto was paying. I think some Charlton lads in there offered to buy his match ticket and he kind of stuck around.

Not sure if he ended up travelling to Euston or not!

Mr Otto is going to pay for him to come along when we play at Rochdale.

I actually abducted him and filled his bag pipe up with vodka. He's currently sleeping his hangover off in Roger Johnson's car boot.

Trust me, the sound of bagpipes wears thin pretty bloody quickly, especially if you happen to be in the vicinity when they're tuning up.

I thought he was brilliant. Totally lost on our want for 1000bpm version though. He'd not got past the first verse when our lot had finished.

The bagpipes were the highlight of the game for me. What a miserable afternoon.

Oh great, this'll be worse than that fucking Portsmouth cow bell. Bagpipes are the worst instrument ever invented by man.

A couple of old boys came in to the pub by Anfield one Sunday game, name escapes me with a set of bagpipes. They were playing a couple of tunes and going round with a bucket, collecting money for their local legion. Anyway one of us asked them to play Mull of Kintyre and I said I would chip in a fiver if they did. So off they went playing away. All the Charlton in the pub fired up and we had a good old sing. That was until the very scary landlady launched herself over the bar and manhandled the poor sods out the pub.

    I felt bad for them.
