    To be honest I never really considered myself as a footballer, and can't actually recall if I played for Orient or not. I preferred my time when I was an armed blagger.

    Random and fairly vague memory of me, Richard Birch and possibly Steve Dixon going to Orient v Cambridge when Charlton were snowed off somewhere. Orient always seemed to get a game on, whatever the weather and this one was played with a full snow covering and an orange ball. Chris Jones scored for O's and they won 3-1.

    I might of course, be imagining all that because at the time I was drinking a lot of bitter (never lager) on an empty stomach and staying out well beyond my bedtime.

    He was Tommy Brown who was a good player but didn't suit Seeds style of play. Cost a lot of money.
    I was in the same school team as his son and saw my first Addicks game with him in 1950 .

    Can I nominate myself? I was taken to watch Orient as a kid by my Os supporting family but then bucked the trend at school by becoming a Charlton fan. Who I have followed ever since. Still look out for Orient though.

    Tricky Ricky! What a player he was for Orient. Was so excited when we got him from either Southend or Birmingham but don't recall him being a hit for us. Was mega poor at that time though so didn't get to many games.

    Got my wires crossed a bit there, a fraud by the name of J Rogers turned out in one game for Seed;

    Home & Away With Charlton Athletic 1920-2004 by Colin Cameron.
    2 October 1943 Charlton Athletic 0 (0) Chelsea 1 (0) (Fagan)

    Apology: ......"The man who came to the rescue was a certain J Rogers, who posed as a well-known player. However the crowd soon realised he was was a fraud and barracked him for the whole of the match. ......Seed wrote: 'I feel that it is somewhat necessary for me to attempt some sort of apology for introducing the outside right, Rogers, in our last home game. this player was introduced to the club as the old Arsenal-Newcastle United-Chester player. Being short of players we were forced to play this man with unfortunate consequences.'..."

    Indeed it was Tommy Brown, signed for a record £8500 at the time from Millwall in 1948 and was allowed to go on a free to Orient in 1950. Reference; The Jimmy Seed Story page 41 .

    Could be wrong with this but can not get the picture out of my head.

    Taylor joined Charlton Athletic as youth coach. He moved into football management in New Zealand for three years, then joined Maidstone United as a coach in 1989.

    Hobbins apparently played 11 times for the Os 49/50 season, having been transferred from Millwall and then went on to be chief scout.
